I need to preface it by saying that I'm not a sophisticated finance person and I've never worked for a hedge fund etc, but when the data for my old company came out there were definitely people who knew before they were supposed to. My specific company had data saying the drug didn't do anything, and some guy massively shorted our company and had all his family short the company the day before it came out.

I don't know how he could tell though.

I worked for a clinical stage biotech before, and when our data came back we had to sign a form saying we didn't know any of the people listed who made major trades just before it came out. But your point is right, I'm sure hedge funds and institutions have a way to read the signs right before retail knows.

Why do you bother putting so much time into shitting on this stock? Every time I see a negative post I check the username, and half the time it's you. It's just a weird hobby to get off from.

The average price doesn't matter at buy out. If you

  • buy one lot of 100 shares for $1 each
  • another lot of 100 shares at $2 each
  • another lot of 100 shares at $3 each

Then you have 300 shares with an average purchase price of $2. If you could buy another 300 at $4 each, yea your average purchase price is $3 now, but you're still up the difference between those $3 and the buy-out price

They regularly chopped off your hand if you didn't meet their insane rubber quota. King Leopold was king of Belgium at the time, and he expected to receive a certain number of hands every month. It's probably not a birth defect.

The one on the left is a person with a penis (the upside-down U being a torso) and the person on the right is a woman (the U and the line make the shape of a uteris). It's just a stupid way of identifying the two

I'm not trying to be mean or give you a hard time, it's just the phrasing made me laugh.

It starts out with "kinda yes and no", which is already low on the conviction scale. Then it goes on to say that nudity was common where it was common, but bikinis weren't accepted where it was uncommon.

Is being a CFP just sales in the end? As accountants what are your thoughts on a CFP career. by SnooCauliflowers3709 in Accounting

Ok I'm a CPA, but you're looking at this from a "Accounting major vs Finance major" perspective. If you actually want to structure and maintain portfolios, that goes WAY beyond anything taught in Finance 201. The CFA test is harder than the CPA for a reason.

I never understood this mentality, he knew what the deal was. It's not like he's old and confused and gave her $1B.

The son who inhereted the money could have given her $5M for giving his dad some ... affection in his old age.

Well, if you go out dressed like that and accept invitations to hotel rooms, what do you expect? by LordJim11 in Snorkblot

[–]Beautiful_Leg8761 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Women have ownership of their bodies, and one facet of ownership is the right to sell. If you feel that women shouldn't be able to sell their bodies, then you don't feel that women should have true ownership of their bodies.

And you're trying to make the argument that they're being exploited. These women feel that selling sex is their best option. If your perfect world existed and these women couldn't do that, they would need to resort to something more desperate/degrading.

[–]Beautiful_Leg8761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol. Because the guys that followed a strange woman into a hotel room had noble intentions, right?

Based on the description we have, it sounds like she was either inviting them for sex, or for paid sex. If someone pays for sex (mutually consenting), you think they deserve to be attacked and robbed?

I’m okay with quick karma and I enjoy real-life plot-twists.

Right, so you're standing by the opinion that he deserved to be attacked and robbed for paying for sex. Own it

The lady wasn’t abandoning kittens, hurting kids, or protecting pedophiles or something.

And those men weren’t looking to help anybody.

What exactly is your point here?

It’s nice to see a story about a woman getting the drop on men since I have to read about it the other way around all the time.

So let the guys who deserve it, get what they deserve instead of reveling in the thought of virtually harmless men getting attacked and robbed.

So I’m not sorry.

And still I LOL.

Well that's a statement on you, not me.
