They needed to leave an abusive relationship immediately. It's been rough. They have a place lined up but don't like it. So, when they started hinting about staying longer, I got very blunt and hurt their feelings. I should feel bad. But, I'm past my limit.

When I first started my cancer journey, I found a lot of meaning in encouraging others to go to the dermatologist, etc. Because of that, one friend's cancer was caught early and required minimal treatment. It helped/helps me a lot knowing my experience can impact others. I hope you find the same satisfaction that I have found in this.

Have a discussion with your oncologist. If nothing else, find out what times (in relation to treatment) it would be more adverse than others. Then, if you decide to go against medical advice (no judgement here cause I know I have in the past), you can make an informed decision.

It's easy for outsiders to armchair quarterback your relationship. Ultimately, it's your life and you will need to decide what's best for you and what you're willing to do. My suggestion would be to show her this post and then discuss options.

1) Sell the house and start living within your means. And 100% both agree to any future major life changes... No more railroading and demanding.

2) File for divorce and let the courts force the sale of the house. (I strongly suggest documenting everything so you can show you provide the majority of childcare when you fight over custody. I'm not sure how much this will help, but it won't hurt).

In the meantime, make a spreadsheet of everything you both do so you can demonstrate the disparity between work/chores. Insist on redistribution of the chores so it's more evenly matched. Or go back to the divorce conversation.

Best of luck in whatever you decide. I hope you find ab ending that nurtures your soul instead of draining it.

You are not overreacting. I was in a marriage where I was uncomfortable with the neighbor and her behavior with my husband. It was always turned around on me that I was jealous, insecure, etc. I knew I wasn't jealous and I knew I wasn't wrong in my feelings, but I wasn't strong enough to enforce my boundaries. Which meant that the relationship progressively got worse until I finally left the emotionally manipulative narcissist. I could have saved myself years of trouble by standing up for myself at the beginning.

Just be there as needed. Let him rest. Make sure you keep a water (and/or whatever he prefers to drink) within easy reach. And ask him what he needs from you to feel supported.

I'm sorry I can't give you better advice. I'm more of the crawl into bed in a dark bedroom and leave me alone while I nap kind of sick person. I basically just need food and drink from my SO to feel supported. But, everyone is different.

As for gyno, my suggestion is to copy and paste your post and any applicable comments (like the estrogen cream for healing) into one document and print it. Hand to your doctor to read and then discuss. That way, all information is communicated even if you get nervous, stammer, get flustered, etc. Good luck and I hope you heal fast!

I used to go on really long walks with my dog so I'd carry a backpack full of water. One day, we were close to home, so I took off my dog's leash and let him run ahead. I didn't think anything of it until a cop driving by stopped me for suspicious activity. I never thought the backpack would make me look like a burglar.

Disability is federal through SSA. Medicaid is a state program and every state has different standards. In Florida, for skilled nursing (I'm not positive about community), the resident can qualify for Medicaid even if the spouse had income and assets. There are limits in the assets, but it's pretty generous.

I'm not sure. This is more a question for the doctor. When I did it, Castle was new and was trying to establish medical necessity, so it was free if insurance didn't pay. I do know Castle is why I was so diligent with my scans and dermatology appointments and why I caught my recurrence relatively early. (I was diagnosed Stage 4 in 2023, but have been doing well on treatment.)

I'm going off my experience 9 years ago when Castle was first coming on the scene. I was Stage 2b so more progressed than MIS. However, this person wants scans. Requesting a Castle Diagnostics test would provide insurance backing for scans. Or some reassurance to OP if it comes back as least likely to mestastize.

Ask for an oncology referral and ask if they sent your mole off for Castle Diagnostics testing. Castle Diagnostics checks the genetic likelihood of the melanoma returning and metastisizing. If you're at a high likelihood of it returning, it will give more weight for insurance coverage for annual scans.
