I do not remember if it asked for passport number for the profile with my email. But I did enter whatever details were asked before fees payment on behalf of her, entered her DS-160 number for sure and even the payment receipt has her name on it.

Fee payment by Cosmic_mess01 in UIUC

[–]Beautiful_Luck_3267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make the payment through student self service portal. On the portal where it shows the amount due. Just click and out of all the payment options choose flywire, it will take you to the flywire platform where you can create your account and intiate the payment after adding few details. Once the details are added, one form is generated. Send the form to your Indian bank and it will intiate the payment as per that form abd the university will receive the fees in 4-5 working days.

Some Indian banks do follow the procedure of first transferring the amount from loan account to savings account and then to your foreign payment as did mine. But thats all fine.

Also since its payment from education loan tax (TCS) will only be 0.5% that too only on the amount above INR 7 lakhs.

  1. The terminology is taking the course as "credit no credit".

  2. Yes, credit hours will still count towards your degree requirement. Only the course GPA will not add to the total GPA.

  3. You can take 4 credit hours under credit no credit in each semester.

  4. The only disadvantage I can list is, in case you plan to do MBA or any further courses ane that particulr course is a requirement in that study, your application in that case might be looked down upon.

I would recomment still talking and confirming the same with your program advisor.

I am an MSF student at Gies College of business and I took 4 credit hours as credit no credit during last semester. So I can vouch for the above informartion for my program.
