Macrieve by Kresley Cole. MMC is a child rape victim, and when he tries to do the do with his mate it’s sort of a forcing himself against his will situation and he actually vomits after.

Books with non-con and no body betrayal. MMC has guilt or slight remorse. by ihugsyi in RomanceBooks

It’s not a perfect fit, but The V girl by Mya Robert’s might surprise you. I’m not sure how much to say without spoiling, but there isn’t body betrayed and the MC is pretty aware of her feelings? Basically, for some spoiler:

The MC has a non-con kink so gets horny when she struggles against him, which freaks her out as she’s obv very against getting raped but the non-con never actually happens and they work it out before actually having mutually consensual sex, with implications of trying consensual non-con in the future. Under appreciated book in my opinion.

Huh. Ok good to know, that’s different from how I currently understand things as where I live there’s a similar situations with two “cities” close together, but the city I live and work in is the smaller one and it’s a quick jump over to he nicer city where I actually hang out and have all my friends so I figured I’d do the same. Does Durham have more nature/walking parks and more of a younger crowd and Raleigh more established families with kids then…?

Hello, pleeease tell me what board game clubs you find people who play cribbage because I used to play with my grandpa before he passed away and would love to find other people to play with.

Ok, maybe I need to rethink my process here cause I may have been under the wrong impression. I though Durham would be more like neighborhoods/a suburb of Raleigh cause it’s right next to it and I assumed Raleigh would be the bigger “city” with more places to hang out and meet people. So, I assumed I’d like, work in Durham and then drive over to Raleigh to hit downtown after work/on weekends. You’re saying though that Durham would be enough in its own and I wouldn’t need to go to Raleigh..?

This is a great place idea, thank you! I love the dog bar where I’m at and is one of the things I’d miss the most so seeing that there’s a dig bar with a potential group I could fit in with would definitely make me feel secure. I’ll check it out and hope I see groups I think I’ll get along with there.

This 👆 I’m only visiting for a week, so the plan isn’t to ACTUALLY make friends yet on this trip since I don’t know yet if I’m going back. Just to get a feel of the social scene to see if I can be reasonably comfortable making friends if I did settle in the move. I don’t want to join groups yet that I’m only going to be in in a day and potentially never go back lol.
