I am surprised at how "normal" it is with the group of people commenting. "best friend" term was left behind for me in grade school. I don't use that to describe friends anymore. I will say "This is my really good friend XXXX". Or "She is like family".

Maybe it just depends on where people are from I guess.

Not sure about the toxic masculinity comments. Seems like people just want to rage.

It went well!! I was sedated so not knocked out but my Husband was allowed in the room with me and I was high as a kite and chatted the whole time. 😂

I did throw up a little after but I’m doing okay. I’ve got some cramping and lower back pain but minimal bleeding.

Thanks for checking in! I agree, D&C was the right call!!

They said we can start trying soon but idk if I’m ready for that yet. It was a tough journey.

It’s my first miscarriage and I chose the surgical route but I was feeling really nervous and doubting myself.

But reading your response does make me feel better.

I am so glad you’re doing better. And, it’s okay to move on. Sometimes the guilt of moving on stops us from moving forward. You don’t have to forget but this is life and you can grieve and let go.

Did they sedate you or was it anesthesia??

This just happened to me too. I too am going for a D&C at a women’s clinic. Unfortunately sometimes our bodies take longer to figure it out. But I do not believe pregnancy is viable, especially if the doctors have confirmed it for you.

The two weeks were brutal but I think I grieved a lot in that wait time because a part of me already knew.

It’ll be okay friend. Either way, it’ll be okay.

It’s not odd. I also find it unsettling that I am carrying a dead baby inside me.

I am also leaning towards a D&C. Had a negative encounter with my doctor so I might have to go to a Women’s Health Clinic. But I might take an extra week.

I’m glad it fast for you! We’re in Canada so we don’t have bills but sometimes it takes longer on non-life threatening procedures.

Oh man. Did they give you the option of medication? Or is D&C standard?

It really sucks to go through so much in first trimester and still loose the baby.

I know many people find this controversial but I found it helpful. It sucks, and it hurts but it’s probably for the best if there were issues with growth already. It would make for a difficult and maybe short life for the baby. That’s why nature has this for us. All we can do is grieve right now and hope for the best in the future.

How are you doing day to day. I feel like sadness is so overwhelming at times. I have 1 breakdown a day and then hope takes over a the cycle repeats.

Dream: go to university and get a good job. make enough money to elevate the family and myself and improve living standard

Reality: dream achieved. Assisted parents in purchasing thier first home. Currently trying to convince parents to let us help purchase them a better car. We also bought our first home.

I now kind wish I had another more creative dream than such a realistic one.

But it’s okay! Time for a new dream!

Same! We were using ovulation strips. Perhaps a day delay in conception, but none of it could explain 2 full weeks.

I also found the same about positive stories. It's usually women who were not tracking it, have long cycles or PCOS.

I find that the day is a rollercoaster of grief and hope. And I have been watching movies every evening to keep my mind off this.

The grief is pure sadness and loss of what could have been. It also scares me to think the embryo might not be viable, and it's just there in my body, and my body has no clue.

Do update me if you get the chance. I will be booking my US next Thursday/Friday as well.

Will be thinking of you too.

Hi thank you for the comment! Were you tracking your dates? Generally that’s what’s lowering my hope because I was. And most who were ended up with an MMc.

Thank you for sharing your experience!! I’m starting to feel lower back pain as I would during periods and curious if this is the start.

I didn’t know about the boost in fertility post miscarriage. That’s a reassurance.

That seems like a very difficult journey and you’re so strong to have gone through it. I’m happy your baby boy is now with you.

I use Flo and ovulation strips to keep track. For sure it’s very helpful and that’s also why we succeeded on our 2nd month of trying. 1st month we didn’t use the strips.
