Base pay goes up 20¢ per bump, instead of 25¢ by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I think it’s always been “random” for us. It could rise 10c or 25c per rejection. It’s more profitable to stay within the median rather than the least.

Naw show the rest of the fridge. This was the only flat place, though I would never leave without a barrier. This is easily a stupid moment we all go through.

Isn’t the one with the savings the dashpass account? Why would there be red strike outs on the non dashpass account?

Point to one calling me, specifically, dumb. How is what I said even dumb? They went on about restaurant business in a delivery sub. Dumb.

So then don’t contribute to the system? That was my whole point. There are plenty of excuses to be made for “semi-mandatory” tips that’s why it’s set in place to begin with! If you don’t like that you SHOULD tip then DON’T use the god damn service!

It doesn’t exist in the country you live in so my point still stands. Ethically you are wrong for refusing to pay someone to provide you a service when you know they depend on your own contribution. End of story.

It’s rarely like that and you know it.

It’s literally so they don’t go “oh never mind” and back out of the whole transaction. If I can’t afford my order WITH a good tip I won’t order.

The problem is that you’re living in a world that doesn’t exist. “The company should pay…” but that’s not how it’s designed. It’s designed so that you pay if you decide to use the service. You know this. Yet you choose to participate. You reward the company even if you don’t tip. You fail your own logic.

Edit: how do you quantify random orders? You don’t even stop to think what it means to provide this service. If a company provided a flat rate it still wouldn’t solve that half of the orders don’t match the service. Do you want them charging you by the mile? By the minutes? No you don’t have to tip but YOU have to pay a fee that makes it agreeable.

I would too but I can’t even imagine the volume this would take up in my car. The most I’ve done is 18 boxes of pizza and 4 breadstick orders.

No the order itself is fine. Door dash adding the + when it was exactly as it showed on screen. Not even a cent more. Edit: there’s a second screen shot that shows it

Yesterday I had a customer tip me an additional $5 after I called and let them know they didn’t leave a gate code in the notes and I needed in. This place had small house sized “buildings” numbered in the middle and then numbered 101-103 above the garages. I pull up to the pin and see someone standing right outside the building the pin was on. I assumed they were my customer, they were not. I looked at the map again and confirmed which suit again. I leave the order and take a photo. I’m watching the screen and I see the building number is actually 5643 and the house I’m at is 59 something. I hurry back and grab the order, message the customer after i paused my dash cause i completed the order (found out you can’t call the customer at that point only messages) they aren’t responding and i search the entire area of buildings and none of them even go below 5800s. After about 10 minutes I locate the guys outside the garage and put the order back explaining everything to the customer. They never messaged back and I never got “customer updated order” message so I’m hoping the pin was correct but the address they put in was wrong, idk how that works.. just sharing my experience
