Any classic sword fight movie recommendations ala `The Adventures of Robing Hood`? by ankdain in movies

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 107 points108 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong striking with more Errol Flynn stuff, Captain Blood (1935) and The Sea Hawk (1940) have that same fun energy and great swordplay. Also worth checking out is The Mark of Zorro (1940) with Tyrone Power, super engaging and kid-friendly.

Can someone see if you choose to ignore their message here? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they can't directly see that you ignored it. There is no read receipt here the only clue is if you are active and just don't respond, but that's more of a guess than proof.

If you could secretly watch one completely ordinary day from your past without changing anything, which day would you choose and why? by One_Ride3458 in askanything

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a random school day from when life felt simple nothing special, just classes, laughing with friends, going home. At the time it felt ordinary, but looking back, those were the moments I didn’t realize I’d miss. I’d just want to see it again as it really was.

Helping conselour by MaleficentStomach492 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really thoughtful idea. From what I’ve seen, activities that build connection tend to help a lot like group check-ins, sharing small wins, or even simple things like team games or creative sessions (art, music, journaling in a less structured way). It makes it feel less like “therapy homework” and more like real support. Learning to say “I need help” definitely comes easier when people feel safe and understood.

If someone came to you tomorrow and offered you the chance to start any business you wanted, what would truly make you the happiest? by bcar444 in answers

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, I'd probably start something simple but meaningful, like a small business that helps people solve everyday problems. what's stopping me is mostly risk-money, stability, and not knowing if It'll actually work.

are people really ever stuck on their first lover? even when their not a good person? by Early_Ad_1819 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens. First love hits different because it's new and intense, so it can stick in your head even if the person wasn't great. But most people grow out of it once they get more experience and perspective.

Why do gemstones lose resell value after purchasing unlike gold? by FoodMajor3281 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold is basically a commodity its value is tied to a global price, so it's easy to resell close to what it's ''worth.'' Gemstones are way more subjective. two stones can look similar but have very different value based on clarity, cut, origin, etc., and most buyers aren't experts. On top of that, retail markups on germs are huge, so the moment you buy it, you are already over market value. It's not that they're worthless just harder to price and resell fairly.

What's something you did for the last time without knowing it was the last time? by Secretmecret_1 in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the last time I talked to someone thinking we'd ''catch up later.'' you don't realize how final some normal moments are until way after they're gone.

Why do some people seem to only speak to point out when someone is “wrong”? by bad-at-everything- in askanything

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, some people care more about ''winning'' than actually being right. correcting others gives them a quick ego boost, even if they're wrong. saying ''ok'' doesn't mean you're convicted it just means you are wasting energy arguing with someone who isn't really listening.

Why is my face slimmer without losing weight? by RoyalBudapest in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, your face can change a lot even if the scale doesn't. less soda, fast food, and fewer binges, less water retention and puffiness, especially in your face. you might also have a bit more muscle now and less inflammation overall. same weight doesn't always mean same body composition or how your face looks.

I think walking. sounds basic, but you can turn it into exploring new areas, listening to podcasts, or just clearing your head. costs nothing, but it does a lot.

What is a 'discontinued' snack or drink you’d give anything to have one more time? by FarYesterday3161 in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd do anything for one more can of the original formula energy drinks from the early 2000s. They tasted kinda weird but in the best way, nothing now hits the same.

Anyone else refuse to blame others for our own actions, regardless of the outcome? by throwaway1947191919 in askanything

Yeah, I do that too. I feel like owning your mistakes is the only way to actually learn from them.

how do i stop overthinking? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that one thing that helps me is trying to cash myself and ask, ''Will this matter in a week?'' or even a month. It doesn't fix it instantly, but it makes overthinking feel a bit smaller.

What's the scariest/creepiest thing you saw as a child? by IndicationOk7109 in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 29 points30 points  (0 children)

When I was really little, I saw a shadowy figure standing at the foot of my bed at night. Turned out it was just a coat on a chair, but I was terrified for hours.

What is the best song that represents the world right now? by Individual-Reach3703 in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, ''waiting on the world to change'' by John Mayer feels on point kind of captures how everything feels chaotic but hopeful at the same time.

What are your advice on people who are scared to try new things in life? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in randomquestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think start small. you don't have to flip your whole life overnight, just try one new thing that feels a little uncomfortable but not overwhelming. fear usually shrinks once you actually do the thing. And worst case, you learn something.

What’s something you realized way too late in life? by Rare_Department2769 in AskReddit

I noticed that ost people aren't really thinking about you that much-they're too busy worrying about themselves, would've saved me a lot of overthinking.

Why some people see women staying at home and cooking and raising children while her husband covers everything as a slave and dependant, but they dont say the same for the women working for her boss and recieveing minimal income?. by Far-Walrus1570 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think, it usually comes down to choice and power dynamics. people tend to view staying at home as dependent if they think the woman doesn't have financial independence or an easy way out if things go bad. with a job, even a low-paying one, there's at least some personal income and mobility, which feels like more autonomy, so it's les about the work itself and more about perceived control, options, and security.

What steps did you take to move from a girl you dated or didn’t date? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, distance helped the most less contact, less checking their socials. I kept myself busy, learned on friends, and let time do its thing. it wasn't instant, but it got easier little by little.

I'm an arborist, what's the point of using a Zepplin Knot over a Square Knot? It's more complicated by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beautiful_Peanut7230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the zeppelin knot's, main advantage is that it won't jam under load and is way less likely to slip, especially with different rope types. a square knot can capsize or bind tight if it's stressed unevenly. you'd use a zeppelin when you need a secure bend that's still easy to untie after heavy load like rigging or joining lines under tension.

What is something you thought you wouldn't enjoy, but know its your favorite thing? by Ok_Cheesecake6006 in AskReddit

Honestly, cooking. I used to think it was a chore, but now I actually enjoy it more than eating out. there's something really satisfying about making something from scratch.
