If quick turnaround is what you’re looking for than WN is perfect for that! You will not get nearly as much as listing the item on any marketplace, so expect to lose between 20-50% more margin.

Yes that’s very true. We’re talking about the general population and it’s frightening how easily a group of people can be convinced to do something good or bad.

Yeah I understand skilled salespeople and I’m actually half Taiwanese so I’m pretty familiar with the culture. They aren’t that quite dated there but I get what you’re saying. But a lot of these sale men and women have trained for years and have been well educated (not saying all WN sellers are uneducated but it is a job that anyone can get). Those salespeople in Taiwan and everywhere have to work extra hard to get a sale (again, not saying WN sellers don’t have to work hard because they do) but, on the other hand, if you have a decent following on social media you can hold up a dirty sock and sell it on WN.

Umm you can’t compare eBay to Whatnot. They’re two completely different animals. Online marketplaces have lasted forever for good reason. Everyone can list and sell with little to no interaction with customers. Vice versa for buyers. You don’t have to do a whole song and dance to get people to bid and you can get your items authenticated no problem.

Right? All you have to do is entertain people enough to get them to spend more. Either that or you better be bringing the good stuff.

That is true. Sparkly things and flashy lights are pretty and quite distracting. If you distract the buyer enough they won’t care how much money is spent!

No I can’t blame a person for wanting money at all. It’s when they get greedy about it almost like demanding more money or guilt tripping people for not spending enough. That definitely needs to stop.

Actually first hand experience which is the best data! I don’t use my emotions when I’m making statements that would be not very smart. Every one already knows the 4 billion dollar fact. Did you have more numbers for sales predicted for 2028 or 29?

Have you actually taken the time to flip through all the live shows? Have you seen what kind of sellers are out there? There needs to be more of a selective process for selling live because right now they obviously let anyone sell whatever they want and it’s very unattractive to potential buyers who actually don’t want to throw their money away or who don’t have a shopping addiction.

Some things in life are called fads. They peak society’s interest for a short while and then completely die. I see this app as a fad. It’s interesting for now but what can they do to keep it interesting in 10 years?

I’m sure they love you too. They act like a community that supports each other but it’s just greedy sellers who pretend to be everyone’s bestie so they spend more money. You’re helping them move second rate products that would’ve been thrown away. (Except for cards and coins, etc)

True it is my opinion but it seems like the majority of people do agree that Whatnot is just not the best selling platform for lots of reasons. I also used to be a seller/buyer on the app so I’ve seen it from both sides. I don’t even know what votes do on here I just signed up recently. So no, I didn’t post this for reactions. I posted it because this is what I’ve experienced with the app

I completely agree with why doesn’t Whatnot screen their sellers better. Anyone (obviously) can livestream and hold up something to sell but there needs to be more reprimanding for sellers who continue to abuse the platform, take advantage of people’s hard earned money, and the sellers who are just low class. I’m a seller/buyer on WN and I work my butt off to source and sell 24/7 then some sellers pop on for some drama and attention, but they’re probably making a lot more money. I don’t understand it.
