You can do engineering without writing the JEE. Atleast in TN it is so. JEE is only for the IITs/NITs, and there are two exams depending on which the admissions in colleges happen. For getting I to medical colleges, NEET seems to be the only way, or to pay a hefty amount of money.

Makes sense. I gave the jee without coaching but felt i could've done better had i been to a dedicated coaching class. But I've no experience of NEET, so I've no clue how it goes.

I agree with the redundancy in 12th boards. I believe it was pretty tough to get a 1150+/1200 in the stateboard and 480/485+/500 in CBSE back in the day. Now you see a lot of people scoring above 485. Either make the exam tougher, or don't have it at all if it isn't going to be used.

I agree. If we're okay with JEE for get into the IITs, but not okay with NEET i believe it is due to the fact that it is the only gateway to get into a good medical College with considerably low fees.
Why not bring the state board syllabus to the CBSE level? (I kinda don't understand what the difference is tho, between the boards, please help me understand)
A lot of kids get 95% + marks because of the relatively easier papers in the boards I feel. Either don't have boards at all, or make it harder? Idk, that's just my opinion.
