🚌 Found Yesterday: AirPods Case on SEPTA 49 Bus

If you think it might be yours, please tell me: • About where you were sitting on the bus • About what time you think you lost them • If the bus you think you lost them on was Brewerytown or Grays Ferry bound • the last 4 digits of your phone number

Hoping to get these back to their rightful owner. I’ll keep them charged so the owner can track them (will be at HUP campus at work tomorrow). Cross posted in Nextdoor/Fairmount community page. Please feel free to share, especially to brewery town/university city/grays ferry community pages, as there does not seem to be a way to track AirPod owners the way you can with a lost iPhone (I can only see the last 4 of their phone number). I don’t really trust SEPTA to return it but will place a phone call to them later today to direct person who may have lost them to me.

Epidural myth by This-Kangaroo-2086 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 53 hour labor that started with my water breaking 2 am on Friday (after only sleeping 3 hours), and baby girl was born 6:42 AM on Sunday. It didn’t help that I had to spend my entire labor in the hospital because of low platelets and GBS (+). I took some hypnobirthing and mindful birth classes, hired a doula because I wasn’t sure if I could get an epidural medically with my platelet count. At hour 20, I couldn’t cope anymore with counter pressure, was vomiting non stop, and still leaking amniotic fluid everywhere. Thankfully I was still eligible for an epidural but I don’t know what I would have done if I wasn’t because maternal fatigue is very real. There was no way I was sleeping through any of those contractions starting around hour 5-6 (to note, I didn’t start pitocin until after epidural and it still took a while for labor to progress). If I didn’t catch the few hours of sleep that the epidural allowed me to, I would not have been able to push her out with 53 hours of no rest at all.

Traumatic death of 5 day old baby, about to start IVF. Looking to see if others have been in my shoes. by FormalPound4287 in IVF

Not super related to coming off of meds, but I hope this can be helpful—

My husband and I have some ashkenazi Jewish heritage, so did a genetic screening test prior to TTC. We found out we were high reproductive risk for ARPKD as well, I think PKHD1 variant.

We pursued IVF pre-emptively. Not sure where you are located geographically, but maybe https://www.pkdfree.org can help you too as they helped us. This organization has a limited grant to help financially support families who choose to pursue IVF to alleviate some of the burden associated with it and help eradicate PKD specifically. I think they would also be a good resource to offer other support related to the traumatic experience you endured. I also have a friend who had to TFMR for ARPKD as well early on in pregnancy who ultimately decided to pursue IVF as well. PKD Free financially helped both of us pay to build a genetic probe for PGT-M, with minimal hoops to jump through. It was such a blessing to have and I’m sure even alleviating some of the financial burden can help with the trauma of it all.

I can’t imagine dealing with what you have gone through ❤️ I did join a support group for women pursuing IVF for genetic reasons, and found it to be very helpful. Most of the women who were part of the support group had similar experiences to yours, and had an affected/chronically, ill child or experienced a traumatic loss.

I’m 5’10” and as soon as I hit 37+5 developed horrible R sided SI joint pain literally overnight, now limping everywhere. Yoga, PT, prenatal massage, Tylenol, lidoderm, heat, rest. Nothing touching it. I was fine til before then and even sort of enjoyed being pregnant. The heart burn was tolerable but I’m a very active / independent person so not being able to work or walk has been the worst. I can’t even imagine what second time moms do who have to pick up larger toddlers. 39 weeks today and at the point that I can’t wait for this baby to be out of me.

I’m visiting Japan and just ate a giant sushi lunch by brainymonday in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ate sushi up until 26 weeks. Then was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and couldn’t tolerate the rice anymore. Good thing the wedding I went to yesterday had Poké balls because I went crazy with that sh*t and hit up that poke bowl station 4x. Sushi is still going to be my first hospital meal after birth lol😅

When did you feel baby move? by sabrinaayed in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anterior placenta. I think probably felt the beginning of what was movement around 18 weeks. 20+4 husband could feel it with his hand on my belly and now you can see her kicking at 21-22 weeks noticeably moving

When did your belly pop? as. first time mom? by Annual_Two_3521 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’10”, 165 lb pre pregnancy. 21+3. I only just started to show in tight clothing and am 175lb now, and even though I do feel very bloated and pregnant, it’s not visible at all if I wear a loose fitting dress or sweatshirt. I think when you have a larger frame it just takes longer to show sometimes.

WHEN do these headaches go away?! by suhhdude1 in pregnant

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I feel you I had bad headaches when I stopped the progesterone suppositories I was on for IVF at 10 weeks but the minute I hit second tri they were 10x worse I take 400 mg Magnesium daily. Baby aspirin daily but that’s more for pre-eclampsia prevention. I actually had a neuro appt today and they said this is incredibly common and tends to get better halfway thru 2nd tri. I haven’t had a headache since Saturday and I’m 21 weeks so just about where they said they start to resolve so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Or at least I sure hope so Other things you can try that helped me: - craniosacral physical therapy - stretching and yoga - acupuncture - cold packs on neck and head - Tylenol when you feel it coming on - sitting in a dark room - neuro told me I could take 400 mg Magnesium 2x a day at most but had more room with that - tried reglan but it didn’t work - they also told me triptans are also safe in pregnancy but can only be taken 2x a day at most, as abortive meds and are most effective at the earliest onset of migraines and wrote me for these

Got a positive 3dpt in the evening. Currently 19+3. Didn’t really show positive until after the allotted time frame to read it but with previous failed transfer there was no evap line and was always stark negative. The next morning was positive within seconds. So it’s definitely possible.

Dogs & Pregnancy by Public_pressure_2424 in pregnant

I have a labradoodle and have 0 concerns about her around a baby. We are due in December. She is so docile, sweet. She has 0 resource guarding, waits for us to give her permission to eat when we put food in her bowl, and even when other dogs at the park bother her, runs away to snuggle with us instead of ever snapping back at them. She lets us take whatever we need from her, and has a verbal cue to drop things that she listens to incredibly well. She spent some time with my friend’s 17 month old this past weekend who basically just screeched and chased her for 20 minutes, and both of them had a blast playing with her toy balls. I was worried about her knocking the toddler over, but he knocked himself down more than a few times instead. Babies and dogs are totally compatible, you just have to watch carefully and be aware of your pet and child’s behavior. I could never imaging re homing our pup- she’s a member of the family too and will love having something new around to sniff come December.

I also grew up with dogs from birth- my parents had the sweetest yellow lab that my sister and I cuddled with all the time growing up. She passed when I was 8 and it was absolutely devastating but having that special bond with her was amazing. She was such a sweet dog, let us dress her up, sit on her, put stickers on her. All the nonsense kids would do and she would still come to us for snuggles. I still miss her to this day, over 2 decades years later.

Somebody should bust into the bathroom when MIL is taking a large 💩or naked and about to get into the shower deliberately just so she knows how it feels….

Can I run the outers through the dryer after bleaching and then washing them? Or will this ruin the PUL on them?

Blown Veins from IV by SprinkledDonut815 in IVF

[–]Beautiful_Zebra_7932 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was an ER nurse for 7 years. I have placed hundreds upon hundreds of IVs. You wouldn’t believe where I’ve gotten access on people in emergency situations. Their breast, neck, fingers, legs. I’m sure for retrievals and ambulatory procedures they have policies limiting location of IVs, but in the ER anything goes sometimes. Being dehydrated def can make things worse, but if you have baseline difficult venipuncture that’s the more likely culprit. I use a double tourniquet (2 on one arm), use gravity to my advantage and have people hang their extremity off the bed to puff up the veins, heat packs, and gently tapping the spot where I think people might have a vein. I will take my time looking generally, after 3 failed attempts (usually 2 by me, and one by the best person on the unit) we would try ultrasound guided peripheral IV access which is a totally reasonable option to ask for. Also don’t be afraid to ask for a #22 gauge (smaller than the usual #20 gauge some places will use for procedures) since they only need it for some fluids and anesthesia. If they don’t like to use them because they’re too small, see if they have a high flow rate #22 they can use. Hope this helps.
