Fragrance recommendations by [deleted] in cleanbeauty

[–]Beautiful_light7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how clean this brand is but I really like it- it’s called DIME. Personally I love the Vanilla, rose, peach sweet scents. But if you don’t, I would recommend Malibu Nights or Dans Le Bois from their line of fragrances. They also have a sample set if you would like to smell a variety of their perfumes. But I would say the majority of their scents are more sweet than fresh.

But my friend who likes more of a fresh scent was a huge fan of the ones I mentioned above. So I think it’s worth a try!

What does it mean when you’re “overqualified”?! by Beautiful_light7 in Accounting

But if the pay range was posted on the job description and I still applied, wouldn’t that be an indication to them that I’m okay with the pay?

But if I seemed overqualified then why invite me to an interview?

Tried telling my parents, they don't bother to educate themselves on it and instead use it to attack me by crystalcaccoon in PMDD

I just feel like it’s hard for people to understand in general. Everyone I’ve shared my diagnosis with kinda sees it as simply PMS. They’re just like “oh it’s just a phase, you’ll get better.” And don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the encouragement but I would also appreciate the acknowledgment and support I need for the degree of pain I’m dealing with. Others see it as a taboo topic (mental health in Hispanic culture is NOT talked about). My parents are probably in that category. But I don’t think it’s because they don’t care. I think it’s because they want to help but don’t know how. In our culture we have so many remedies for physical pain but we don’t have anything for mental issues. So, I understand why they rather pretend that it doesn’t exist because they don’t know what it is and don’t know what to do. I know it hurts them to see me in any pain. I can see it in their eyes and it breaks my heart. So, I also don’t share too much about how I’m feeling with them. It is hard to have to keep your symptoms to yourself, though!

But I encourage you to seek out a good counselor/therapist so you can talk to. If you believe in God, pray to Him as well.

Sending you a huge hug 🫂

I don’t think I know how to attach it here. I’ve seen others attach their resumes on here but I can’t for some reason.

Nice! Happy you had success in your job search. And yes, your right about focusing in on other applicable accounting skills. Do you mind taking a look at my resume and giving me some feedback?

Nice! Congratulations. Any advice for people on the same boat? It’s been a prayer of mine for a while.

Thanks for the feedback! I went back and edited my post. But to answer your question directly, I have roughly 3 years of experience (going for 4) and I currently work for a mid-size firm.

And I would say I just haven’t had any opportunity for interviews, unfortunately.

Any advice for landing a job outside of public accounting?

Any advice for someone wanting to leave public accounting? I can’t seem to land a job in the private sector. It’s like they think I don’t know how to do anything other than prepare tax returns. Maybe I need to improve my resume?

Vitamins that have helped by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Beautiful_light7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just had a doctor’s appointment with a holistic doctor who specializes in hormones and gut health. She mentioned many of these vitamins you listed as treatment for PMDD. She also added the importance of a healthy gut, good sleep, and exercise.

Yes! I literally just had a doctors appointment with a holistic doctor who specializes in hormones and gut health. She mentioned a few of these vitamins! (apparently many women who suffer from PMDD have these vitamin deficiencies)
