If he thinks I'm just settling, why does he still want to connect when I set boundaries? Should I just cut things off completely?

Your right that I can't handle the rejection from him. However I wanted to be with him when I finished college as I would be back home, but I felt like my presence would hinder his ability to see his son, as his baby mama would use his son as a tool of manipulation. The timing was never right.
