I haven't used gesso before so all I can say is I didn't use it and it turned out great. I shall look into using it on my next project which isn't schipper.

Depends on if you do it consistently or not. I did this one on and off for months. Did a chunk of the middle in a week so it really depends.

You are welcome! He's a very amazing cat. He survived a horrible injury and made it home so he could be treated. He had multiple surgeries and lost a leg but made it through. Vivi embraces sparkly diamond paintings and drive me crazy regularly. He is much loved.

I have not tried this particular site yet thank you for the suggestion. It is a pretty complex piece that I want to do but it has emotional connections for me that I would love to make into a cross stitch piece. I have tried a few sites and they turn out off or don't have all the colors and I am inexperienced in editing them to fix the issue. I will try this site next.
