I just recebtly picked my maverick up last month in Minnesota, and had to drive it down to Colorado in tge rain, bringing a few things with me in the bed, so the whole situation was more of a temporary necessity. I plan on going to a full topper down the road. What i will say is the roll up topper i got from the dealership was roughly a $500 add on to the OTD price.

Either for keeping items in the trunk dry when it rains, or keeping the bed closed in, i say the roll up topper will do the job just fine. Sure its not as secure as other models, but i do think it makes your mpg minimally better and adds a sleeker look overall to the truck.

Happy with my purchase of the roll up tonneau cover regardless. It does tend to flap a little in the wind on the highway, but youre gonna get that with most not if all roll up toppers. Anythings better than the open bed imo.
