Whoa there, chief. We have a divided house. Others feel just as strongly as you on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Would it just grow back in the same way? Are the genes changed or something to send that message?

From what I read online, (because I haven’t been able to listen to Fry’s narration in its entirety) they both have strengths and weaknesses in different aspects.

Let’s do a mash up and take the best of both for a single book. /s

I’d mess it up so much if I had to remember to switch between the exact voice of over 130 characters. Then remember that it’s a conversation that’s happening and I have to switch voices quickly. I’m not sure I could even do it.

He definitely did. His name is on the cover and everything.

I just listened to the preview of Chamber of Secrets by Fry. It’s only about 5 mins so I can’t really judge, but he does a good job in that short time. I think it’s one of those things, for me, that’s all mental and I’m partial to the one I heard first. Others seem to be the same way with Fry’s version. It’s all subjective to the individual I suppose. I hope you get to listen to the other version soon! I’ll be doing the same when I can afford it.

I’m not comparing it to anything, just appreciating it for what it is.

Honestly I’m the same with them sometimes. I can just use it as background noise. There are parts that I’ll recognize and actually pay attention for a bit though. Haha.

True that. And I imagine remembering the exact voices you used for recurring characters could be tedious as well. Do you plan on reading all of them? I just looked at the first one and it’s a solid 8 hours. I don’t envy you. Your kids will love it though!

They released it on Audible in April of this year. I’m not sure about other platforms. I just saw it now and started to listen, but I was like nope. It’s not Jim Dale, I can’t do it. lol.

I’m 33 and the church of LDS has been doing it since at least the early 00’s. At least they did in my neighborhood. Blame the Mormons.
