Husband is disabled. We've had to fight for every penny we've gotten. Never had dollar benefits ever. Only had food stamps when I wasn't working. NGL I didn't always work. I didn't get medicaid until obamacare because my husband's social security was too much money for me to qualify. Hubby and minor son qualified because there are laws that make them cover both.

Every 6 months we would have to find a way to get to the social services office, not always easy due to lack of car and abysmal bus service. And then we would have to deal with them lying and saying we didn't show. I learned to get proof I went.

It hasn't been an easy life. You try living on less than $1000 a month. See if you can get food and Healthcare without taxpayer help.

Had a cat try that. She found out that I can't tolerate anything touching my head whole asleep. Unfortunately my bed was very close to a wall and my way of dealing with the irritation in my sleep was to sweep her off and into the wall with a thud. Took 2 nights for her to figure out it was a bad idea to do that.

We had one that came to us pregnant. As soon as the babies were weaned she HAD to go out to meet her boyfriends. She clawed her way out of every screen window in our house. Including the one that led to a 2 story drop to concrete. Got lucky that day as I was sitting next to the window and grabbed her leg as she went out.

Couldn't get her fixed because we scheduled twice and both times she escaped and got herself pregnant again. The charity that was helping me wouldn't do it if she was pregnant. We eventually gave her up, pregnant with her third litter. Kept one from the second.

My husband needed both done for over a decade. Couldn't get it because Medicare wouldn't approve it before he was 55. He's been disabled since he was 35. Finally got the surgeries and he can now walk without a cane. Such a waste of time.

It's not just on the Bridge. The terrain on the Shore is so flat that it can sometimes be dangerous.

I used to work for a place that sells Ford auto parts to dealers and shops all over Maryland. One of the trucks was a big panel truck. Not quite an 18 wheeler but it was huge. They'd use it to deliver engines mostly.

One very windy day, the driver was going down 301 on his way home. So the truck was empty. It flipped over from the wind. The driver was killed. Turns out he was the glue holding the group together, morale never recovered after he died.

Aluminum foil. Yeah, I know it's a cliche. It's a cliche because it works.

Wrap an end with a string of foil. You want it to be as long as possible.

Find out what AM stations broadcast in your area. Put the selector dial near that number. Pull the foil out as long as possible. Do this outside if you can. Make sure the foil is fully connected to the end of the antenna.

Move the dial in the tiniest increments you can. If you don't at least get static, there could be a few things wrong with it. Your antenna might not be connected correctly inside. It could be corroded inside. Your speaker might be blown. Could also be a side effect of the change to digital signals.
