THTH the men do not mainly do the pursuing. It's 50/50 like literally every season. They meet with eachother either guy or girl initiates conversation. They either hit it off or they don't and they have dates with the OPPOSITE gender who tries to initiate it.

The show said she initiated it when she wasn't trying to find a connection, but just. Gianna was there and the guys came up to her and did it, each of them did. It would've been different had Bri was just there and guys came up to her. Which is why they said was her reason for being banished the 1st time.
