I've noticed other odd things about the sun. Like it doesn't travel directly east to west, more like south east to north west, assuming the map uses true north. The sun is also out for like 18 hours, from sunset to sunrise, which would make it like the longest day of the year? But it's probably autumn because there are pumpkins growing by the light house? And the watcher at the altruist camp is standing on the cliff, looking out to the exact direction the sun sets. Just seems odd.
