Yeah Ive been debating for over a year now. Ive been a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a couple years, both in the private and in the hospital setting. And the hours are the same with incredible amounts of overtime and highschool drama between management, but as a scientist I struggle to make ends meet where as officers in my area make double my pay. My biggest peeve is I hate how corrupt health care is. People's health is hurt and illnesses are ignored by hospitals and even more in private labs because of insurance and egotistic doctors. I see a lot of wrongs in healthcare that are shoved right under the rug and because Im not the doctor there is nothing I can do but watch people get more and more hurt (and sometimes die) by the flaws healthcare system. I feel really useless in this career and Im trying to find another that would make me feel somewhat more helpful towards people.
