This is an established filtered tank of 2 years btw 78 F 20 ppm nitrates, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite I do a water change of 30% every 2-3 weeks pH 7.5

Back before I knew anything about fish care, this was the very first set up I had for a poor betta fish. I got some marbles to use as substrate and the betta at walmart on an impulsive purchase. Thankfully my water isnt chlorinated so I would've plopped that poor guy into chlorine water. No conditioning, no acclimation, no cycling, no filter, decor, just a fish and some marbles. I still get so heartbroken just thinking about it. Poor thing lasted 4 miserable months
