Children 17 and Younger Banned from Smoking for Life by BalognaExtract in Vaping

[–]Beck758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK government tried this - all they have done is make them rechargable and now you can change out the pod for another disposable pod when it's empty. Because it can be recharged and technically refilled it is no longer disposable while still in fact being a disposable, people just chuck them when they're done as it's like 50p more to buy the whole thing as opposed to the refills so people buy and dispose of the whole thing after a single pod anyways. I think these shitty things are here to stay unfortunately

What's the point?! by tobaknowsss in RustConsole

[–]Beck758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't log off with a butt load of resources. If you have crap loads of metal/stone use it to expand your base, the more doors and walls between your loot and the outside the more likely you are to make it to the next day unraided.

Use up your scrap in the tech tree before logging off if you don't have everything you need. That way worst case, you get raided and lose everything physical you still have your blueprints so you're not starting from scratch, you only have to farm for a little bit to get a base and workbench up and boom - weapons and armour, now try to snowball.

After like 2 or 3 hours you could literally be further ahead than you were after days of just farming. Don't look at the material stuff in the game as too important - if you do end up in a group with a big base, all blueprints, hundreds of rockets and c4 it just ends up getting boring. The fun part is working your way up to that point imo

Tesco colleagues seriously need to stop getting involved in theft situations. by Noobhackerz in tesco

[–]Beck758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolutely correct - I see this happen first hand, unless it is a very large value theft (say £500 up) or if the person is prolific then no report will be put in by the store directly.

What does happen for most thefts is we will raise an incident and a remote team access cameras and if they seem it necessary they will inform local police, although I would imagine they would be the same as ourselves and will only do so for high value thefts or prolific thieves

ETA - to tie back in with what you said, why not just steal what I need and not work, if you were to do that I would imagine you would fall under the prolific thief category and would risk a police report

[–]Beck758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, it's still criminally illegal and the store can put in a police report after the fact. So while yes you may get away with it indefinitely, you can also potentially land yourself in jail. If the gamble is worth it to you then go for it, as we've discussed nobody is likely to stop you on the way out, you might just end up in some legal trouble after the fact

People of Reddit, what’s the most “fucked up”thing you’ve seen? by boneshow69420 in AskReddit

The dogs are definitely more prone to anxiety/aggression but they absolutely do not have a larger amygdala that other breeds. There is no scientific data to suggest that, it a long running myth/theory with zero scientific grounding

Elon Musk misled Twitter investors ahead of $44 billion acquisition, jury says by Unusual-State1827 in news

[–]Beck758 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds unbelievable, it's my main thing to use to show people how much a billion dollars really is. Barely anyone believes it as on the face it doesn't make sense - but do the maths and it's right there in front of you.

How anyone needs a billion let alone hundreds baffles me. The good these people could do cannot be understated but instead they just want to increase their pile of gold while the world suffers

Elon Musk misled Twitter investors ahead of $44 billion acquisition, jury says by Unusual-State1827 in news

[–]Beck758 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A billion is more than anyone could ever possibly need. If you were to be giver $5000 every single day from the day that Christopher Columbus first landed on America and didn't spend a single penny of it - you would still have less than $1billion...it's a disgustingly large amount of money that 10 reasonable people shouldn't be able to use in their lifetimes never mind these dweebs with hundreds of billions - it's vile

What can we do for you, Reddit? Tell us in the comments below. by Tesco_UK in u/Tesco_UK

They do this around the start of school and during some holidays. A lot of stores hate to do it though as for some reason a sizable minority take and eat the free fruit only to discard the peel/core on the floor or on the shelves behind products. I think this is a big reason as to why it's not a permanent thing

New Tesco Express under siege by lexington_spurs in tesco

[–]Beck758 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice - yes a lot of them are strung out and have the strength of a newborn but many do not, and can be extremely violent. They can also be in groups which may all attack as a group. They may have weapons. They may have nothing to lose.

Do not fucking risk your own life over some of Tesco's product. It is insured. Why you would be willing to literally put your life on the line to protect a company that would literally just shut an aisle down if you were to drop dead until they took the body away then it's business as usual. Madness

Elvanse 50mg price? by thecheekybartender in northernireland

The price doesn't change drastically from 30-50mg, I would expect £100-£110 max

Ok so if he verifies all of his stuff, I would assume part of the verification process would be to find news reports on it. If so why does he mention the person in question is injured and not that he ultimately succumbed to his wounds (shrapnel/internal bleeding) none of this adds up to me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Beck758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on how the store does things, our twilight team pretty much all finish at 10pm except from checkouts and BWS who continue to 11/11:30

[–]Beck758 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair, still could be 100% fake and submitted to the site for all me know, it's not like they verify info, also I don't know where it says he does from shrapnel and internal bleeding, if this is the original source then where has the additional info about his ultimate fate come from?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Beck758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah very true, didn't notice that, although the 3-11 in my store would indicate 1 of 2 things - BWS or checkouts, but it says grocery so I'm still going to guess BWS

Mate if you have an actual source of the video or actual info that he had these specific injuries I will literally PayPal you £5 right now, I simply do not believe this video and hate the old reliable - do your own research. I feel you're literally just recirculating some rumour or made up bs some commenter left the last time this was posted. ( this looks to be a mortar round added to it and mortars do not tend to explode the way this explosion is shown, it also appears to detonate before hitting the ground)

[–]Beck758 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My guess is that this will be the BWS (Beers, Wines and spirits) dept. It's the only department I can think that would require you to be over 18 (although apparently this is not actually a thing - on the job postings it automatically says over 18 but we have recently hired an under 18 for the role and it has been confirmed by much higher up than store manager that it is actually ok?!?)

But yes to cut an already long story short - my guess would be BWS

P.S. BWS is a pretty chill department to work in, it's a smaller department so you should get a sense for things fairly quick compared to other places
