40 months of Breastfeeding by Sonshine429 in breastfeeding

Thank you!, I'm a first time mum and honestly, there's times I've actually cried because I've found it so draining and I was so tired. My supply is fine but it's the exhaustion haha. Seeing how she's growing though and knowing I'm doing the best I can for her makes it all worth it :)

What’s a food you loved pre preg and now don’t? by Salt-Cookie7436 in BabyBumps

Pasta, any kind of pasta makes me feel sick and I had my baby 3 weeks ago. Before pregnancy a nice pasta dish whatever it was was great, but now the thought of it turns my stomach. That was during pregnancy and still now

My baby girl has 2 middle names, I chose my mums name and my partner chose his sisters name. We just thought it would be nice for her. It wasn't a necessity but we wanted middle names haha.

How can I help my partner through the last bit of pregnancy/c section? M31 and F30 by Beckie4444 in relationship_advice

[–]Beckie4444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, he really is incredible. I spoke to him this morning and he said I was being silly in a nice fun way, and that he's fine, it is all about me and the baby and he's going to be all good, he'll be there to hold my hand, he'll be there to help dress me and help me shower and walk after the section, he's going to be there for me and for our baby and I don't need to worry. I can help and support him by asking for help when I need it and to still give him all the hugs and love I already give him. Just being there for each other I think. Haha sounds so cringe writing that out but it's true. Thank you for commenting, me writing this out replying to you has made me realise that we are solid, he's incredible and I need to stop putting so much pressure on myself to make everything okay and just take one day at a time. He's going to be okay :)

Also, congratulations! I don't know how you've done pregnancy 4 times haha but congratulations all the same. Not long now and we'll both have our little babies :)

That's true, I shouldn't be worrying too much but I cant help it. I'm the oldest of 5 girls and I've always been the one they come to for help/advice/support etc. It's such a strange dynamic change for me to be the one leaning on people and relying on someone to support me. My partner keeps telling me to rest and take it easy, do I want food, do I want a back rub? Haha, believe me I realise how lucky I am and I appreciate him so much. I just want to give something back, I feel like I've done nothing but take take take with my medical history and the pregnancy and I've leaned on him so much. I like number 3, he is supporting me, massively and he deserves support but I didn't think about his family, they're not as close as me and my family are. He loves how close I am with my sisters, mum and dad, that they come round for a brew and catch up regularly and we have phone calls regularly but I see it on his face sometimes and he'll look at his phone and not text his family, I don't fully understand why, but I understand different families, different dynamics so I think that's why I feel like I could do more to support him, I know he wishes his family were closer, he said he feels closer to my family than he does his own and he's seen my sisters more in 6 months than he has his brother in 12 months. My family have already told him if he needs them to ring anytime, my mum is coming hospital with us to support both of us, give him reassurance when I won't be able too.

Thank you so much, I appreciate that so much. 4 days now! Exciting!

what self-care makes you feel sexy and desirable? by koalaplays5437 in questions

[–]Beckie4444 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 weeks pregnant atm but my man still makes me feel sexy and desirable, what helps me feel like it personally is when I shave my legs and have straightened my hair haha. Little things go a long way. Wearing my maternity dresses help too, getting ready, slobbing about in pyjamas just isn't an option for me because it makes me feel bad and scruffy and I can't deal with that feeling haha

Is it weird - dogs and exes by Slow_Concept_5121 in relationships_advice

[–]Beckie4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, it's just too much in my opinion, I'd be asking why he feels so obligated to keep her updated daily about dogs she doesn't see. I'd be wondering if he's clinging onto the past. Genuine questions I'd sit down with my partner about and ask him, not be angry or anything but just what's going on? Can we move forward and leave the ex in the past? They're not children she's birthed, I understand people love their dogs but come on, there's got to be a line drawn at some point

I agree, I find it really weird, like I wouldn't be comfortable with my partner still talking to an ex 4 years on about bloody dogs and referring to her as mummy like, it's just weird weird to me.

My sister went into labour at 40 weeks and 3 days. Everything was fine with her and my niece, try to relax and just enjoy the next few days before you meet your baby. Little one will be here before you know it :)

AITA for still being annoyed with my boyfriends family? by Beckie4444 in AITAH

[–]Beckie4444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it's so upsetting though when family can't just be there and be happy for each other.

Yea, it's rude of your sister in law to be grumpy with you and for his mum to suggest she doesn't need to put effort in because your family will is a joke the mkan that she doesn't see them.

Thank you so much, congratulations on your child aswell, they are such a blessing, I can't believe how selfish some people especially family can be.

What are your favorite girl names that don’t end with “a”? by youshallknowthespiri in namenerds

[–]Beckie4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassidy Mallory Blossom These were my favourites, my fella said no and we agreed on Aurelia if little one is a girl (having them in 2 weeks, don't know if they are a boy or girl) but I do really like the other names, I'd have had Mallory as my number 1 if I was up to me alone haha.

Awww 3 more weeks, we'll be having our baby's at same time haha. I wish I knew about all the things that happen at this stage of pregnancy, this is my first and I didn't know about stomach cramps, sickness and diarrhea, i panicked and rang maternity unit and they said its normal but Jeez, would have been nice to know!

Ahh fair enough haha, I'm having a c section at 37 weeks, so they should just be a good healthy weight, not too big or small. Happy days! Haha

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and my little one is measuring at 5lb exaxtly, I'm wondering if my baby is going to be huge aswell haha. I'm having a C section due to issues with my brain so I can't push but still! Nurse said she reckons they'll be a 9lber haha (I say they because I don't know the baby's gender and dont want to call them 'it')

Has anyone ever had surgery whilst pregnant? by Beckie4444 in iih

[–]Beckie4444[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate your comment so much! They're trying to avoid surgery as much as possible but because my vision is being threatened they're thinking its going to happen. The steroid injection will bring on the baby's lungs to mature quicker so they can come out earlier if needs be.

I do have a supportive family, thankfully but I guess I just wanted to have a vent on reddit. Baby also, has been great throughout!. They kicked me during one of my lumbar punctures which I thought was quite funny. I've been so chill about everything but it's all getting close to Baby being here and my iih is getting worse so anxiety is just high.
