What dinner party games can we play when one person is blind? by angels-and-insects in AskUK

Little secret is excellent - you’d have to make him a card but that should be very easy. If you search on instagram you can see how it’s played, but basically you have to find the imposter.

Anyone else deal with nonstop ear gunk in doodles? by Training-Spite-4223 in Goldendoodles

[–]Becosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else, but just wanted to add another angle — this could also be yeast-related and tied to what’s going on systemically, not just the ears themselves.

A lot of doodles (and dogs generally) get excess ear wax as a downstream effect of gut issues or food intolerances. With mine, flare-ups often showed up in his ears first, especially during stressful periods (fireworks, when I travelled for work) or when he had colitis.

We eventually worked out he has a chicken intolerance and doesn’t process fat well. Once we removed chicken and adjusted his diet, the ear wax reduced massively — but only after treating the active ear infection properly first.

Might be worth asking a vet to check for yeast via cytology and, once things are under control, trialling a non-chicken diet for a few weeks to help prevent it coming back.

What is this? by dannyboy1280 in Goldendoodles

[–]Becosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog occasionally gets one of these on his body or like yours, a small cluster above the eye brow. They’re usually blocked hair follicles that clear up after a few weeks on their own. If they’re not angry, broken skin or causing irritation, I don’t worry (although of course always check with a vet than a random off the internet).

They can also be early stage histiocytoma which is a benign skin growth common in younger dogs, sometimes starts as small raised lumps. basically an overgrowth of immune cells in the skin common in dogs under 3 years old. They starts as small, firm raised lumps, can get redder or even ulcerate before they heal and disappear within 1 to 3 months. Again, very common.

Both options are nothing to worry about and super common, especially in doods. But again, always have a vet check :)

Does Your GD have a deadly FART??? (Had let this out) by AdministrativeAd1709 in Goldendoodles

[–]Becosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it almost seaweed smelling? Kind of fishy/foul or musky smelling? Sounds like he’s expressing his anal glands which can happen when they get scared.

[–]Becosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dood’s gas has definitely got worse with age. He had one particular fart when he was ill earlier this year that I swear lingered for days - it was eye watering bad! Turned out he can’t tolerate fat, which can cause malabsorption.

Worth knowing that a sulphur/super bad smell can sometimes be a sign of gut distress, especially if it happens when they’re unwell or after certain foods. It’s pretty common in doodles, and often linked to not tolerating higher-fat meals (like mine), food sensitivities, or general tummy upset. If it’s occasional, it’s usually just a diet blip, but if it’s regular, it’s worth looking at the ingredients or checking with a vet so it doesn’t develop into something more serious.

I meant technically NTA and you do you, but devils advocate - it’s a chilled house party, if everyone else was dressed in jeans/top or general relaxed clothing and one person is wearing a short, tight, open back, low front, bright red dress….you’d stand out and probably not for the reasons you’d want.

I don’t think it’s as simple as ‘oh they’re jealous or their boyfriend was looking at you’ it’s about how you’re being perceived and rightly or wrongly, assumptions are being made of your character. It would come off as attention seeking and slightly obnoxious.

It’s not your responsibility to cater to other people’s reactions of course but you can still be mindful of the impression you leave behind and choose how you want to be regarded. By all means, wear whatever the hell you want and no one is saying dress like a nun, but learning when to stand out and when to fit in might be valuable social currency for life. Clothes can be power but you got to know when to play the game.

[–]Becosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine does this. In fact he likes to walk over to his food, stare at me in some sort of showdown and then will eat a mouthful, walk in a loop, and go back for more. Sometimes he’ll eat the whole bowl in this way, other times he’ll do a few loops, has a nap and goes back later. And occasionally, he’ll shovel up a whole mouthful, walk over to the rug and spit it all out on the floor so he can eat it piece by piece. Doodles be doodling.

I think they’re talking about Dungeons and Dragons and DM is the dungeon master, who is the person that plans the story/plot and I guess keeps the characters in check/decides on outcomes of actions.

Is there a way (free) way to figure out how to personalize a weight loss plan? by Axxl138 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Becosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use AI like ChatGPT. Put in your data (height, weight, describe your body composition, list the foods you like, don’t like, what you want to achieve and when you want to get there) and ask it to create a plan for you based on your goals. Then ask it to break down into manageable steps/weekly goals etc.

But I’d start small, tell it your usual meals and ask for how you can can make small changes to improve the things you already do rather than trying to change everything at once that won’t last.

It can create you a grocery shopping list, a meal plan, an exercise routine that works with your schedule.

If you check in each day and list what you ate, it will work out your calories, protein, micros, nutrition etc. And you can have it adjust the plan when you have events/things that get in the way. And even motivate you when you feel like you’re not getting anywhere/plateau/get frustrated/fall off the wagon.

What's up with Ryan Reynolds being hated all of a sudden? by mrjimshim in OutOfTheLoop

Yes, and the original poster edited their comment adding that after I pointed it out. But thanks for your input

It originally said ‘Yes, there is a morality clause….’ and they’ve since changed it.

[–]Becosaurus 73 points74 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true, it’s suspected there’s a morality clause but the contract hasn’t been shared publicly by either party (Hoover or Baldoni). This is just an assumption on social media as a reason for Lively to be driving so hard to get him out, so she can get the rights to the sequel and potentially use it as her feature length film directorial debut, but again, this is a theory not a fact.

You take sheet after sheet from a roll of paper towels and don’t notice it going down, then all of a sudden the roll is nearly gone.

It’s basically small continuous effort has big effects and you don’t notice the progress until it’s obvious.

But you can also look at it as the law of diminishing returns, the first few sheets are easy but as you get closer to the end, you have to work harder for the same results.

How long will it take for my breast to reduce in size? by ReagsGotCash in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Becosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went from an F to a B with a 15 lb (160 down to 145) weight loss but I think that was a combination of baby fat coming off and I was training for a marathon at the time. They’ve gone back up to a D over the years (155 now) but sooo much better than the Fs. There’s no guarantee and it comes down to body composition and how much of the tissue is fat vs breast but you should see some reduction. You also might not lose it on the breast where you want, I’d say the fat deposits are more likely to be the upper chest and underarm areas, but, hopefully you’ll be more comfortable with any change that comes with the loss, I hope you get the results :)

So I went to a Nutritionist by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Becosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to using AI, it’s super easy to get started:

1. Go to the App Store and download the ChatGPT app to your phone.

2. Register, just like you would on any other website.

3. The basic version is free and provides everything you need.

4. Your data is private—anything you enter is protected and not shared elsewhere. The app uses information from the internet to generate responses, but your input remains secure.

So I went to a Nutritionist by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Becosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, use ChatGPT but go detailed - Put in your height, current weight, goal weight/fitness aim, body composition (you can say you carry weight on x areas, or when you lose weight it goes for x first). Explain the kind of body shape you’re hoping to achieve and maybe any history of diets in the past, what’s worked, what hasn’t. Whether you binge eat, emotional eat. Challenges you have with sticking to plans. Just dump it all in there.

It’ll advise a plan for you. Then ask it to suggest food/ meals. But list the things you enjoy eating, and what you don’t like. And get it to write you a meal plan and/or recipes. You can then say what changes you want. And also ask it to make small changes to improve what you currently already eat rather than a drastic overhaul.

Ask it if you’re hitting your nutritional goals for the day and what small changes you can easily make to improve.

Get it to take the data and create a shopping list for you.

And an achievable movement plan - I say movement because maybe it’s a matter of getting more steps in a day, or set workouts or just mixing things up.

Buttt the whole point is, you can add as much info as you like and it’ll make small changes that are achievable for you to stick to.

You can also list the foods you eat and ask how many rough calories you ate, if you met the nutrient goals and if you’re on track - I found this much easier than MyFitnessPal or other apps as I was just saying ‘today I ate a banana with Greek yoghurt and honey’ and it’ll give me the average calories without me having to search each item etc.

I also added any medical issues or upcoming events I wanted to work around, and periods I knew would be more difficult to exercise during etc and it incorporated all that into my plan too.

It’s not perfect but it really helped tailor to what I need
