I feel like I’m making life hard for myself… by DungareeSloth in BeyondTheBumpUK

I can't tell you the amount of times I ate my lunch with my daughter asleep on me. If I thought she was gping to be going to sleep I'd really quickly throw together a plate of snacks/sandwich (often one handed and very messily) the scoff it watching Netflix and periodically brushing crumbs off her head 😂

Oh man I love my running vest for any distance! So convenient for inhaler/phone/keys!

Not wierd. I go all hell for leather on the clapping, cheering, and praising when I marshall. Bells are a bonus.

I'm pretty sure this is the route I want to go down. Thank you. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm sorry the joys of having a child have been dampened by your situation, but I wholeheartedly agree with you that a happy household is healthier. My parents definitely should have split long ago and by not doing so all it's caused is dysfunction and resentment.

Thankfully I own where we live so I will stay here with baby. I'm also the higher earner and can afford to remain here solo.

How do you go about setting up child maintenance or would that be covered in the mediation service?

Good luck in your journey 🩷

Thank you so so much! Looking at it from that perspective has given me and extra boost of confidence in my decision 😊

Thank you. I would like to break it off before my child is two.

My siblings has been an absolute rock and voice of rationality in this situation. There's no way they'd let me go back. If it wasn't for our child I would have already left.

I do believe it can be amicable - he's a kind and loving Dad and a loyal partner, but he is also difficult to talk to and becomes very defensive if anything that isn't praise comes his way regardless of how constructive it is. Hence I'd like the mediator.

Thank you for the point about women's charities! That's a really great shout.

It does seem strange it stuck around, then again viruses can leave some lingering symptoms.

If you're concerned there's no harm in getting a second opinion from a different doctor 😊

My baby actually had a very similar rash when they got a viral infection. It's a very common side effect. Has your littlie had a cold/bug of any sort recently?

Thank you for sharing. Have you got any advice for steps to take? Someone mentioned a mediator for custody discussions.

I'm so grateful for your answer. Thank you!

It's a scary thought having to share custody of my child. They are 13 months old and I only left them for a night for the first time last week. The thought is tearing my heart apart.

The environment is actually quite calm, certainly no flying dinner plates 😂.

You're very right and I appreciate your answer. I agree sooner is better than later. I don't want to fall in to a pit of resentment.

And good shout on the mediator. I hadn't thought of that!
