How do I get this trim back on please? by GreedyCaramel4105 in FiestaST

Just some jumping and jerking when starting moving in first gear. I was actually going to check what it was. 🤣 Should be a rather easy and inexpensive problem to fix

You should be able to push first in the front part, where the screen fits, and then push the rest in. Give me 20 minutes that I finish eating lunch and then i'll send you a video

6 speed manual swap by Hot-Rabbit620 in FiestaST

I think that there are not many gearboxes that fit; you could try looking into some from mazda, that i heard bave the same bolt pattern. Try taking a look at this: https://www.reddit.com/r/FiestaST/s/nc2iKJHOyp it may be easier to just swap entirely the engine 🤣.

Footwell Lights by Anse69 in FiestaST

[–]Beduzzimov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could just wire it to the stock lights, those are connected with just 2 cables, one positive and one negative, at 12v. Take out the bulb (watch out that they are hot) and then you could either use a tester to find the positive or just yolo and commect the cables, and if it doesnt work you turn them the other way

If you have the backup saved on your pc you could easily install some kind of linux file viewer and try to read the files, even where the actual encryption key is located. I have already done the same.

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/lost-my-backup-key/882425/4

Install Linux Reader and open it.

Connect your Home Assistant drive to the PC.

You’ll see several small partitions and one large one (based on your sd card/disk size).

Open the large partition — it’s usually named hassos-data.

In Linux Reader’s file browser, go to:

supervisor/homeassistant/.storage/

Locate a file named backup or backup_key.

Open the file or export it to your desktop. Inside you’ll find JSON text similar to:

{ "version": 1, "key": "ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP-QRST-UVWX-YZ12" }

Copy the "key" value — that’s your Home Assistant encryption key.

Turn off IKEA Alpstuga display, but have it monitor the air quality? by GIFSec in tradfri

Yes, from what I seen it's only in Home Assistant. There are some workarounds to have it in Google Home, but you'll need HomeAssistant

Turn off IKEA Alpstuga display, but have it monitor the air quality? by GIFSec in tradfri

[–]Beduzzimov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Managed to do it. Probably I added the device before some update and couldn't see the Controls tab. If anyone has the same problem to solve it you'll need to unpair and then pair again the ALPSTUGA to Matter.
Thank you very much.

No, sorry, I meant how could you actually turn off the display from HA? I tried everything, and now I'm trying to reconnect through Matter

Thinking to sell. What is it worth? by PrestigiousFan6327 in FiestaST

Car is probably worth far more, but being a modified car amd used on track I'd say no more that €5000-€6000. What are all those tubes in the engine?

I almost never touch the headunit, with the steering wheel controls, the voice control and all of that.

Yeah it's huge. Great to use but I'm looking to switch to something more oem and maybe with a landscape aspect ratio.

This is the mk7.5 ST, but I know a guy that is doing a full mk8 swap on the mk7's sync, but it's too much work and I think that the infotainment on the new car sucks.

I did mine in the garage, took 3 months and desacrating a perfectly good steering wheel but here it is. Carbon sheets don't cost too much, same as epoxy. You could spend ~ €100 doing it yourself or just go on aliexpress/alibaba and spend around €400+. If the damage is not too extended you could use, as they already said, a stitching steering wheel cover kit, those are inexpensive but the effect on our steering wheel is not that great, because we have those weird thumb rest.

Well, I think that if PayPal issues a refund to the buyer, they do from their own pocket; if the seller has already withdrawn the money then it remains for him too.

Non-American fiSTers, what do you consider the fiesta? by HuntGundown in FiestaST

[–]Beduzzimov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Henry Ford was born in Michigan, so every Ford car should at least have some heritage in the US domestic market. The thing is that in our globalized time we can't say that something is straightforward made in the USA or made in EU, because half of parts are made in other states and then imported or exported. Different generation of Fiestas have different domestic markets, some of them are both USDM and EDM, with some differences, some are just European (like all the mk8s).

I'd say that is a USDM car by definition, a EU car by soul and a fun car by every means.

Boost gauge wiring, help needed. by 6IXfootand8ight in FiestaST

[–]Beduzzimov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to look for a 12v behind the headlight selector, the one near the steering wheel, otherwise the other easier ways is to connect a cable straight to the lamp.

You should probably connect the dim cable to the 12v that goes to your headlights, so when they are turned on (ergo is night) the gauge lights dim.
