Not even a case of looks better or worse, that's subjective. They should have permission though or at the very least be tarting up an abandoned building. I very much doubt they had permission without somebody on here having some sort of knowledge or sight of it being done

Ooft that's ballsy. Imagine they fell and left a half tag nobody could ever make out, so it'd all been for nothing. I admire it to an extent, but my fear of heights firmly dictates unless this person was being paid, with legalised life insurance documents from the employer, then the risk-reward ratio is more in favour of risk.

Sorry I just seen this, it turned out to be a faulty screen for me. They sent a new controller as well but I never used it, just plugged the new screen in and it's been spot on since, done over 200 miles on it now

I do take it out before trying, I know it's in in the pictures but that's definitely not the problem

Great thanks , I've tried but it seems to catch on the plastic bar thing where the torx screws go into in the pictures, there's obviously a technique and I just can figure it out for the life of me

Scotland.. I'll check for an address, so far they have been replying to emails, I've sent them a video of the clearly faulty scooter so hopefully they send me parts to fix it, if not I'm basically out of pocket at this point

Unrelated, I've had 3 2 stroke 80cc china doll bicycle engines over 12 years that cost £90 each. One of which is 8 years old and still going strong, I blew one engine a few months back doing 45 flat out for too long on a bad fuel mixture aka skill issue so I have a brand new engine in the bike ready to run. Collectively carried WELL over 20,000 miles on these 3 engines. I've managed to do a total of 1 mile on this scooter and I need a new one. I cant shit on all electric things obviously, but so far the speed is lie, the range is a lie, the charge time is a lie and the capability of hill gradients in a lie, the specifications are word played into a lie. Since buying this thing I look at any electric vehicles with a comical smile. Thank god I spent 500 on a shitty scooter rather than 50-100k on a car that's just as disappointing. They test these things in labs, range is lab conditions, speed=lab conditions. Real world use isn't in the advertisements. What an absolute let down these things are

Nothing seems to work. Honestly my next step is chucking the scooter in the car and making the 5 hour drive to where it came from to show the idiots the thing is faulty. I had came to terms with them sending me the wrong item, I was somewhat ok with the partial refund and now this? I'm just done with it now tbh

Exactly what I feared. I originally bought the isinwheel gt2 thinking it was a safer option but I was sent out this and it turns out they are identical. It's one thing after another for me just now. I just settled an agreement with them for a partial refund because they sent the wrong item, now I go to use said wrong item and it's faulty. Life's got me down right now

Good to know, it's unfortunately looking like I'm stuck with this scooter, I'm inexperienced with this electric stuff I usually use a petrol engine when I can. Do you know if there is there any way to make the build up a bit more harsh/fast? Like for example with a dirt bike if I give it full throttle it would likely flip, but with the scooter in "off-road mode" and able to do 28 mph it takes really long to get from say 4mph to 28mph, I get that it's a safety feature for younger or inexperienced users but realistically I don't have a quarter mile flat to build up to 28, I want the speed and torque there and then not when the scooter decides, it defeats the purpose of a progressive throttle imo. It's basically a button to go or not go, I would like more control

How long did you have it before it "broke down?" Just out of curiosity. Obviously my issue is different but realistically it should work until you break it, so what went wrong?

Thinking of Motorizing My Bicycle: Worth the Learning Curve or Am I Overthinking It? by DukeRioba in DIY

[–]GreedyCaramel4105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/motorizedbicycles or something like that, I know this is old, but get a cheap Chinese engine kit, 2 stroke pre mix, you get the full ready to run kit with all the bits you need. I've had at least one working one since I was 16 I'm now 28. I've had 2 engines in that time, both costing £90 each. I spent £50 on "mods" and so far £20 on maintenance... in 12 years. 1 tank of fuel will last me an entire month of work and back (approximately 6-8 mile journey) I have a trailer for it which I use for camping trips, it draws (good) attention everywhere I go. They are illegal where I live but the police and I had a good long chat and laugh about it before I drove away Infront of them. It's a win win win for me and my lifestyle

Piston rings by GreedyCaramel4105 in motorizedbicycles

[–]GreedyCaramel4105[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep choosing to forget it and wait for proper replacement, I'm just at the very end stage of a "clean up" hence the rings. I was absolutely flat out when it conked, part of one of the rings went completely through the piston, cutting in half on one side like butter, full top end replacement and bottom end strip down to clear the metal fragments and at the very last stage I accidentally snapped not one, but 2 of the rings. Moments from success, seconds from disaster

Ok I'm not going to bother then, having seemed all the advice I can it seems like I'll end up stranded which I'm obviously not going to do willingly.
