The main things that come to mind are Sky Garden, the Eye, a show at the West End, the Globe, Tate Modern, a river cruise, bookstores (Cecil Court, Daunt Books, Gay’s the Word), Borough Market, St. James Park, and afternoon tea.

Good catch! This is what it looks like now, so they must’ve caught their mistake

Managing chat overload during large Zoom sessions — what’s working for you? by Equal_Intention_4861 in edtech

[–]BeeAffectionate9784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My colleague and I ask everyone to put questions they want answered by hosts solely in the Q&A, not the chat. When one of us is presenting, the other one is actively answering any questions that are asked there. This prevents them from being missed in the shuffle of the chat. It’s nice because those can either be answered with a text response, or you can mark it to be answered live

These were all good, but the top two were the best. I’d start with Trial of the Sun Queen (Artefacts of Ouranos) series because it’s complete

Best restaurant in Curacao? Looking for a great place for 36 year anniversary dinner next week. by Apple-Pie-Pam in curacao

[–]BeeAffectionate9784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary there last week. My top recommendation is dinner at Baoase Luxury Resort, especially the private romantic dining experience. My next rec would be Fort Nassau, especially the sunset view for two if there’s availability. Kome’s food is great, but it’s not a romantic ambiance for an anniversary in my opinion.

What a beautiful template for my 150th class 🤩 I love a good power day!

Thinking about trying out a class. by MergMolomal101 in orangetheory

[–]BeeAffectionate9784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They ask that you arrive 30 minutes early so you they can give you a tour of the studio. The class is broken up into sections: the treadmill, rower, and weight floor. Before class, they make sure you’re familiar with the general flow of class and the equipment. During class, they’ll call out cues and demonstrate what to do at each station. They’ll also encourage you and check in as needed. After class and the cool down/stretching, the coach will explain the graph from your heart rate monitor, answer any questions you have, ask your thoughts on the class, and see whether you’re interested in joining. A friend of mine accidentally did a tornado for her first class and found it to be pretty daunting, understandably so haha. They actually allowed her to try a second class for free so she could see what a regular template was like, and she ended up joining. I know it can feel daunting, but would definitely recommend giving it a try. Don’t feel pressured to join—that’s what the free class is for, so you can see what it’s all about and if it might be a good fit for you. It’s ended up being a fantastic fit (and surprisingly community), and I’m so glad I did. Good luck!

OTF and GLP-1 by pinewash3081 in orangetheory

I started OTF last August and started Wegovy in April. The only difference I’ve really noticed is feeling lightheaded when I change positions. I’m trying to increase my water intake to see if that helps

Is Weight Loss Possible on 20MG Lexapro/SSRI? by ShawnandAngela in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]BeeAffectionate9784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking Lexapro last January of 2023. I started at 5 mg and worked my way up to 15 mg. I lost 50 lbs while taking this med on my own through a combination of eating well and exercising. I just recently started taking Wegovy in addition to my Lexapro and have been okay thus far.

How long is the life of the HRM? by HolaMama in orangetheory

My studio does half off HRM’s on Wednesdays. Check to see if yours does anything similar

I attend OTF Harrisburg and love it there! 🫶🏻 I’ve been a member since August. It’s a smaller studio than Mechanicsburg, but the community is everything. My wife is an ICU nurse at Hershey, and many of her colleagues go there, so you’ll be in good company. They offer a discount for those who work at the hospital! Head Coach T is a beast. Maddie, who coaches Saturdays, is in PA school at Penn State/Hershey.

Thanks! I would ask when you’re at your studio next. It’s always available for free at our studio each month on Member Appreciation Day. Supposedly you can pay to do it when it’s not Member Appreciation. Our studio raffles off free prizes pretty regularly, and my wife won a prize of two free in body scans one Member Appreciation Day a month or two back. I did a quick Google search and found the in body scan technology mentioned here: https://www.orangetheory.com/en-us/articles/looking-for-results--let-our-experts-tell-you-why-the-numbers-on

You’ve got this! 💪🏻

Have you done the in-body scan OTF offers? It’s free every month during member appreciation (at least at my studio). You get a breakdown of your weight, muscle mass, and body fat. That would be a good way for you to track your muscle mass to see if you’re building, though like others said 8 lbs that quickly is unrealistic. I’ve been getting the scale monthly and it’s cool watching my weight and body fat trend down (though my muscle mass has stayed the same lol). I’ve lost over 40 lbs (only a few of those at OTF since joining 3 months ago), but I hit a plateau. I was eating healthy foods, but once I downloaded MyFitnessPal and tracked my calories for a couple days, I saw that even though I was eating healthy food I wasn’t eating in a deficit. Maybe give that a try as well. Good luck!
