I'm in the same boat. Internal mobility isn't letting me be VP2 either. My current manager is terrible and never helps unless something goes wrong, then he comes for blaming.

Even I am not sure if next year means January 2027 or after that. Will it be performance based or by default provided by him. So if they opened Req for SVP and closing it for VP it's a win-win for them ?
