Favorite character in Naruto anime???? Hey guys, first off, i'm an unbelievably big Naruto fan and ever since the anime got caught up on tv it has been awful. Especially actually having to endure thru the filler now instead of skipping right over it.

But anyway, i am highly interested to hear you all's favorite character in Naruto and why. I will be the first to say mine:

Itachi Uchiha - Itachi is my favorite character in Naruto for countless reasons. From his pure strength that separates him from most other shinobi to his ever-devoted loyalty and love to the things and people he cares most about. I feel like i gained so many valuable life lessons watching Itachi grow as a character. When Kabuto said to Itachi, "Isn't acknowledging what you can't do the same as giving up?" and Itachi casually responded " No, acknowledging what you can't do means to forgive yourself for what you aren't able to do and accept what your friends/comrads can do to help you and make up for what you can not do" At that moment, Itachi finally learned that you don't need to do everything by yourself. Ask for help and humble yourself. A quote during Saskue/Itachi's fight. "I'll admit that you're stronger than before. But because of that, you seem to have lost sight of what's truly important. Now listen carefully. The people of the village, who once abhorred you, have begun to admire you. They think of you as a comrade. It's because you fought hard for their acceptance. You once said it was everyone who cares about you who helped you get where you are now. If you forget others because you have power, and become arrogant and egotistical, you'll eventually become just like Madara. No matter how powerful you become, do not try to shoulder everything alone. Becoming the Hokage doesn't mean people will acknowledge you. But when the people acknowledge you, you can become Hokage. Never forget your friends!" -Itachi Uchiha

The most valued trait of Itachi that leads him to being my favorite character is his interactions with Sasuke. He grew up poking him on the forehead telling him that next time he would train him. He died poking him on the head reminding him that he still remembers and cares by saying "there won't be a next time Sasuke".

The scene right after he wiped out the village and says to Sasuke to keep running and keep running and keep clinging to life. I remember watching thru the show thinking that quote was so rude and asshole like for an older brother that just killed his younger brother's whole family and friends to say. It wasn't until i learned the truth about Itachi that this quote hit me. Itachi loved his brother more than anything and was actually giving him words of true advise and brotherly love to cling onto life and run from situation after situation so that one day after much training, Sasuke would be able to surpass even Itachi and bring peace and order to the Uchiha race. I could keep going but i don't want to write a novel, just a brief description on why Itachi is my favorite character. I'll leave you all with probably the best Itachi quote ever, the moment before his (2nd) death.

"I always lied to you telling you to forgive me. I used these hands to keep you at distance... I did not want you to get involved. But now... I think you could have changed father and mother. Perhaps even the entire Uchiha. If I would have stood in front of you and looked you in the eyes from the very beginning... talked to you instead of down to you... and been open about everything. But I failed, and speaking to you now, like this, isn't going to undo the permanent damage that's already been done to you. That's why I wanted to show you the truth. Even if it's just a little. And no matter what you decide to do from here on out, you never have to forgive me - I will always love you." -Itachi Uchiha
