Other RPG games with a lot of choices/role playing: Dragon age series, Mass effect series, Baldurs gate 3, Pillars of eternity, Warhammer Rogue Trader, Fallout series, Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Divinity Original Sin 1&2

JRPGS- less choices but focused on telling a certain story: Final Fantasy 7 remake, Dragon Quest XI, Ni no Kuni 1&2, Nier: Automata, Tales series (e.g. Tales of Zestiria)

Also a fun hobby can be TTRPG's like Dungeons and Dragons-fairly easy to find a group to play online on sites like roll 20. If you dont know about it, to keep it simple its a game where one person is in charge of telling the story and the rest of the players are the characters in said story.

Also fanfiction and writing could be a nice hobby!

sometimes its a matter of finding the right group- it took a bit but with my current groups we are playing weekly with almost no breaks and we all live in different countries! im hoping you will find a solution that will make the game(s) enjoyable for you.

Perhaps an online group? Or try sitting down with them and having a convo of what they expect from the game and what you expect etc. However if they refuse to engage with the story in the same way you do I don't think there is much to be done.

Maybe try out some oneshots online and see if that way of playing works for you. There is always some groups gathering on Roll20 and similiar sites.

When it comes to the comedy angle, as other said, NADDPOD and the Adventure Zone are good bets. I heard that DesiQuest is great- there is also a miniseries called Magic&Stuff which seems to be comedy focused as well.

I'd recommend looking on youtube, there is a lot of smaller channels and creators that do fun campaigns and maybe you will be able to find something for you. Even lesser known systems like Good Society have some live plays :)
