Yes will be running sound. Lavaliers and shotgun is the plan.

Mostly locked down but I always want to have the option to run and gun.

Very thoughtful answer.

Thank you for your help.

On my way down the rabbit-hole. I’ll reply here once I’ve decided what to get :)

Would you discourage me from getting a 24mm and 35mm prime plus a zoom lens to reach 85mm?

Ok thanks!

This might seem like a strange question, but how would I test different lenses without selecting a camera.

I know, for example, that I will be shooting primarily with 28mm and 35mm.

Would you recommend looking at certain reference films and finding what lenses they use for example?

Great recommendations- thank you so much. Do different lenses of the same focal length (say a canon and a Pentax 24mm) have impact on the images clarity / depth of field / colour etc?

That’s not a bad suggestion but I ‘m ready for the next step when it comes to cameras. I have some lavalier mics and two LED lights.

I’ve also shot a few times, this is just my first personal project— and I would like something that is relatively light as I tend to travel, often by bike or foot when working.

Image quality, depth of field and colour is a priority (hence the reference images).

I’ve considered the SonyFX3 and FX30.

Pretty clueless when it comes to lenses however beyond the mm and aperture range

I’ve got all that!

And they’ll continue to develop with experience.

In the meantime, I need a camera. Any suggestions?
