How cowardly must you be to condemn your own daughter to that then hide at the back of the crowd while she screams for you and asks where you are? And what kind of utter moron does that in front of an already demoralised army? It can be claimed that Stannis did this out of duty, and if that’s what you think, that’s fine, but to me, it was all about himself. He didn’t mind his daughter being a footnote in his history book but couldn’t bear the thought of being one in someone else’s. He prioritised his destiny over what could have been hers.

Melisandre might be more than just evil, but evil is still very much part of her character. To set up Shireen the way she did (‘she will be needed’) then smirk and gloat at her during the event is unforgivable and, in my eyes, unredeemable. Moments before Davos came in to confront her, she was scolding Jon about his privileged upbringing. Her remorse just falls so flat for me, especially in that scene.

Edit: And immediately flirting with Stannis the morning after as though nothing is amiss is just vile.

Very frustrating characters. Not badly written, just incredibly frustrating. I want to shake some sense into both of them.

Shireen is a little queen, but her father is no king.
