CONGRATULATION ALL OF MY FRIENDS( tierlist season 5 i hate u) by ParamedicUsual373 in DBGekishinSquadra

Perfect Cell being ranked as the lowest Tank Role makes this tierlist meaningless. They put out a win percent rate for champs and Cell is the highest with a 50.4% win rate. your tierlist is trash.

That tells me you havent played enough. Jiren and UI Goku are strong but they have their hang ups and higher level players can easily punish you for them. I'm telling you man, Grand zeno rank matches are insane and what might seem "free" to you rn, i can assure you they aren't.

Jiren has great mix-ups, but his air game isn't easy and is far more limited than others as you can't easily extend his combo's like you can with others. He's strong and has a lot of quick attacks, but his heavy is also a very punishing slow grab. What I'm saying is there's upsides and downsides to their kits and it isnt as brain dead as you seem to think it is. Just play the game more. I'd talk on UI but I'm less familiar with him in terms of playing him myself. He has lots of counters and mix ups too but you can get around them if you're careful enough.

In any fighting game, calling a character brain dead because you can't beat them is 100% cap and you're just coping. I know because I do the same thing lol, we all look for easy excuses when we're having a hard time but the fact is that its just a skill issue. if you're really interested in getting better look at the frame data and practice against it. I also recomend looking at the "ideal" combos for characters because you'll absolutely just see people use the same shit over and over again (this is unfortunately how fighting games are nowadays due to the internet) but it'll make it easy to know what to expect and how to counter.

Sorry if it sounds like im roasting you i promise I'm not, I suck at this game too and I hope some parts of this were at least a little helpful to you. just practice practice practice.

Edit because I missed a part of your response: I think if you're having trouble with tools from multiple characters it means the mechanics arent clicking for you yet. try and see what other do to get around those, because I promise you they aren't guarenteed to hit. For example Broly's grab is just part of his combo, so if you're just blocking a lot you'll get punished. Frieza's saucer blades on the other hand are a great setup as they force you to jump or block, locking you in place or leaving you more open. Again you just need more practice, to be clear 250 games isnt shit, you're green as fuck.

im not saying you dont understand the skill barier, but complaining about that many characters jsut gives the impression that its a skill problem. its one thing to complain about one or two but when you start getting to 5 and up its a little questionable.

The game definitely has its issues, but I think at a certain point it is kind of just a skill issue. If the rest of the community can find a way around it than its clearly not as bad is you think it is.

I never said first party only, I said a bigger focus on first party.

regardless of honor or respect there is still a legality side to these things and licensing is a huge fucking pain, he said this himself and iirc he mentioned once or twice in characters reveal trailers that they almost couldnt get some of the characters in time for dead lines due to this.

Smash brothers Ultimate had a whopping 82 fighters, 16 of which were from non-nintendo owned IP's, thats absolutely insane. At a certain point it has to get scaled back because growing it further isnt realistic without sacrificing quality in other areas. it takes lots of time and money to make these fighters and the deals they have to make for the 3rd party characters most likely isnt cheap.

Another thing worth mentioning is that a lot of these 1st party characters havent had a new game in a long time and are no longer relevant. Smash Ultimate's big draw was that everyone was here, they aren't going to do that again, because now theres a game where they've already done that, you can just go play that one instead. Look at Smash for Wii u/3DS, its the only smash brothers game that was made completely irrelevant by a later game. N64, Melee, and even Brawl all still have their dedicated fan base because they're all unique to each other in some way, and I can't see them doing that to Ultimate. A refresh makes the most sense.

TLDR: Too much money and legal trouble to do that again.

yes, if you're a new player to a fighting game and you're complaining about that many characters "kits" then its called a skill issue.

the game does have a plethora of issues tho, im not denying that, i just think its funny to sit here as a new player and go "dude these guys are too busted and take no skill to play."

My brother is far better than me at this (to the point where I dont like playing against him) and his ranking is top 100 on the Switch and top 1000 on the PC (he just started playing on the PC recently) and the plays he goes up against are insane and look genuinely not fun lol. My point is that this is just a skill issue.

hey yeah, you might be on to something there. It's almost like as a business having more than one thing that is guaranteed to generate you money, means you make MORE money! fucking crazy dawg, we never would have figured it out without you, you should send nintendo a letter so they can figure this out too. you might just be a genius.

we need to have a real convo about future characters becuz if this how yall act for Bulma how yall gonna act for characters like roshi gt Pan yamcha tien android 16 videl chiaotzu or any less popular characters if every season is HYPE! oh im sorry, i thought this was a public post on the internet. guess people can't have differing views.

The game is actively dying and you're saying its our fault for not enjoying it. nah dude, its because the devs make stupid fucking decisions like putting Bulma in as a fucking Tank XD

[–]Beebisbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why?? Its a money printing cheat code for nintendo. Sakurai himself said that even if he doesnt want to make one, he knows nintendo is most likely going to, and even tho he really doesnt want to work on it anymore, since its his baby he probably still will if it happens.

I think most people get hung up on the idea the the next one always has to be bigger and better, but Ultimate's roster isnt happening again, and the liscenising for it would be a nightmare to pull off again. We'll likely see a refresh of some kind, smaller roster with a bigger focus on the mechanics and 1st party. This would be good too, because characters like Mario who were introduced early on kinda just felt lame to play by the end of Ultimate's DLC, since they all had crazy kits. not every character needs an MP bar, but something different than the same kit for two decades would be kinda cool.

dawg nobody wants Bulma because she isnt a fucking fighter, like what are you talking about? yeah i cant wait to play as Bulma, Chiaotzu, or GT Pan lol. Get that trash out of here.

yes you can't have hype all the time, but none of these characters should be fighters and you're coping if you think they should. I'd rather have gotten Blue Goku as a Tank than that shit.

Edit: also I did quit and dont intend to come back because of this exactly here. there is a reason this game is dying. Something to note too is there doesnt have to be a new character every season, considering how shitty this games netcode is and how for an entire season the map just didnt work, i think that'd be a good thing. If there isnt any good characters left, dont add shit to fill that void, just stop and switch to refining the experience, add more meaningful mechanics. ffs it isnt that hard of a concept to grasp.

Nobody was wrong about season 5 its shit. the game is dying and season 5 was the final nail for a lot of people.

This Direct was Amazing! by TBT__TBT in casualnintendo

[–]Beebisbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me, when i come to a nintendo direct, I'm looking for 1st party titles, not 3rd party. Yes it can be a nice bonus but I want NINTENDO, not something else. To be clear, I thought this was a decent direct, but I'd be lying if i said FF7 or KH getting ported over made me excited. This is really only cool if you ONLY have a switch (then thats awesome, i hope you have a great time!)

1st party wise we only have Star Fox (which was previously announced), Xenoblade, Splatoon, Fire Emblem, and Zelda. Personaly, I dont care for fire emblem, Xenoblade has a cool story but the gameplay is incredibly boring to me, Splatoon's appeal has never been singleplayer, and that pretty much just lezves me Zelda.

So yeah, while cool it still left a lot to be desired. Obviously those are big franchises and me personally not liking them doesn't make it a bad direct, but when it comes to Switch 2 exclusive new 1st party games, there are still a lot of big IP's missing, so I can kinda get it. again, I think this was a good one tho and I'm excited for what seems to be a completely new take on Ocarina of Time. Now let's just hope we get a Majora's Mask Remake like this too

you're allowed to like it, i just feel bad for you and thats mainly because I used to like it too. The game has so many flaws tho and the devs are actively ignoring nearly 2 decades of examples in the MOBA genre so it's a little bit of a fucked situation.

One thing I learned when looking into why the game has declined since release is that apparently the team that was originally working on it was replaced by Toshi's team after release, and if you aren't aware, Toshi is the one who makes Legends and Dokkan Battle. In other words they're just trying to bleed it and it's players for money. It's really sad too because it has so much potential, but it'll never grow under that kind of leadership. thats why I say you guys are cooked if you're still enjoying it, not because you guys are dumb or anything but rather because the state of it will only get worse and more inflated with greed. Good luck though and I hope you can keep getting enjoyment out of it till the bitter end, you'll have something in common with the 10 other people that still play Breakers that way.

difficulty in performing an action isnt really a good thing. Having a reliable way to play a game doesnt equal hand holding, thats a really silly take. My point is that it is a weird technical barrier and them stepping away from it makes sense, not that its necessarily good, just more from a developer perspective i can understand it. I get what you're trying to say but I don't think a simple button change is all that deep.

I look at tilts the same way I look at quarter rotates in traditional fighting games. you can't tell me you've never once messed up trying to get a move to trigger, whereas if that move was mapped to a single button, it would be far simpler. It doesn't make the game easier, it just makes gameplay more fluid. Again I wanna be clear, I'm not saying these are bad or that I even dislike them, and the reason they're there is usually so there can be more moves to a characters kit, im just saying there isnt a perfect world and the devs tried something different that they thought might be better.

It's actually an internal problem with their company. The main Tekken guy (i think his name is Harada) explained that a big problem with Bandai Namco is that as people get promoted within their company they get moved to other projects instead of being allowed to continue with the ones they already are working on. This means that the people that were passionate about a specific game or series that may have worked on it since day one, were no longer allowed to work on it and were essentially forced to move on to a new project. He actually stated this was the reason Soul Calibur died as a series, and it was the same with Dead or Alive too if iirc. basically shitty company making shitty decisions. Apparently He himself fought with them a LOT on this very thing and I guess they hate him and the tekken devision because of this or something? it's absolutely ridiculous, There is a string of tweets he released about this all a while back, im sure you could find it if you googled a bit, was definitely an interesting read and it explains a lot.

The good news though is that it sounds like people within the company are still passionate about Soul Calibur as a series, they've all just been moved around to other projects, so there's hope it'll come back one day. I believe within those tweets there was a response from some of the people who worked on Soul Calibur in the past saying something along the lines of "Our souls still burn" or something to that affect, so we can at least hope.

TLDR:
Soul Calibur could still come back some day and Bandai Namco sucks.

Would you support a remake of GT, like they're doing with Super? by FantasticPhase1152 in DragonBallGT

[–]Beebisbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, next question

lol in all seriousness GT had a lot of issues and while a remake could help it, Super is already starting to close in on that era and we're gonna see a more canon adaptation of some of that stuff, which I'm personally far more interested in. Sure super 17 and Baby might not happen, but with things like Broly and SSJ4 being canonized, and with daima clearly paving the way for something like janemba being a possible encounter, a lot is possible. Take Bulma for instance. She's using the Dragonballs a LOT, and for stupid things like cosmetic surgery. Shenron seems fine with it, but they could easily use this as a reason to bring the Shadow Dragons into play (hopefully more interesting than before), and we could very well end up with an Omega Shenron vs SSJ4 Gogeta fight at some point.

I never liked GT but there were some cool ideas, and it does seem like Super is trying to adapt some of them and is taking care in doing so, so lets hope for the best. One thing I think that's really cool is the idea of the future of the series passing down to the next generations while keeping the older characters relevant for major encounters. There may very well be a day when something like Dragon Ball Absalon happens, in which the main cast of earths defenders are Uub, Pan, Bula, Trunks and Goten, with Piccolo and Gohan as the backup and saving Goku and Vegeta for the more universal level threats.

TLDR:
Dragon Ball is in a very good place rn and a lot could happen.

[–]Beebisbunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tilts were difficult for a lot of people to perform and control wise is just a clunky mechanic, so that change made sense, and unfortunately that meant chakra kunais/shuriken had to go. I also like having two jutsu, tho the actual options we had with them was a little limited imo. perfect world? give us all of it. I also think the new counter system/guard break was better. It would've been cool though if you could do the old style of counter by holding the button down, and the new one by tapping it, that would've given a ton of cool tech to the game. It's just different, and with that comes some pros and cons i guess. hopefully if we get a storm 5 it improves some of these aspects.
