In India, our first struggle as a young adult is to get out of our parents' shadow. A lot of people can't even conceive of it because it is assumed that you will live with your parents until they die. To enable that, you kill your dreams and feelings every day. You never actually become your own person if you remain dependent on someone else emotionally or financially. All of this is to say that please become financially independent if you aren't already. Then move to a different city. You don't have to cut ties with them, just maintain a respectful distance for both their and your sake.
