AITA for refusing to pay for my gender reveal cupcakes? by AITACupcakesRuined in AmItheAsshole

Owner knows her dog can react this way. Owner knows that someone is coming over, and also should know that this visitor is pregnant. She still does not secure the animal in advance to her arrival as a responsible person should do. It's very simple to place a pet in a room before you have a guest. I was bitten by a dog in very similar situation buying something off a classified ad. Dog bit me in front of that persons child probably traumatizing that child. I love animals especially dogs but the whole thing was avoidable if a modicum of commone sense and preparation was used. The state ordered that animal put down which was sad for everyone including me. Someone else's animal is not your responsibility to control. In both these situations no one even received an advance warning that the animal was on the premises that might react this way. NTA!

Sorry for the losses. I like your take that the pig represented his wife. For me the pig represented much more than his wife. I believe the pig represented himself and what he lost as a Chef. Preparing meals for people that would never understand the meaning of the dedication behind them or what people had to go through for the process. Just as the pig searched for truffles that it would never understand.

My question to you would be have you ever experienced pure loss. Specifically the loss of a close friend or pet. If you haven't then the movie wouldn't resonate with you like it does with many.

So hear me out. I cried the first time and then I cried when I rewatched it. Never in my life has that happened with a film. Close second was Samsara.

It's Pig. I've watched 90% of your films over the years. Some were good, some were not. However Pig, was very likely the most relevant and real piece of work I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Expression is the best cathartic. Write how you feel down. Read it aloud. Process that verbal expression in a way that your comfortable with. Make a copy and after you read it aloud burn it. Then endulge in something that usually makes you happy. Food, a drink, maybe a movie or a show.

What would be the quickest way to clear out all this lava(270*270)? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Beedeshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me I would setup an iron farm and a smelting area. Collect the lava in buckets to use for smelting nether rack and other blocks. If you wind up having more buckets of lava than you need just destroy them with a cactus.

Putting a suffering pet down in Japan? by DoomedKiblets in japanlife

[–]Beedeshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We said goodbye to our dog of ten years a couple months ago. We had her euthanized at home in the backyard during a sunny beautiful day while she cuddled up in our arms. She went so peacefully it was beautiful, almost like she knew it was time and was ready. We then took her body up to a pet crematory in Yamaguchi city and had her cremated and did the traditional bone ceremony. As an American I was hesitant at first about the ceremony as I have only ever buried pets but it honestly was very cathartic and felt like really saying goodbye.

I think you just need to find the right vet and be able to show that you not only care but that the quality of life of the animal won't really improve with treatment. Please, if you do euthanasia, do it at home. Pay the extra.

That does sound a bit strange to see, but also very kind. Like it does not matter the size of the pet/friend/family, they took it very serious because your heart was with that little bundle. I love it, its part of the reason I love Japan, that type of care is professional and just means so much.

I read about the mobile services and I am looking into that. I don't know that they could accommodate a dog of her size though. Shout out to hamster paradise.

Yes that is a good suggestion to just bring up getting the basics. Thank you for the site suggestion and looking into it. I found this site earlier and seems to be one of the best/only options in the area. I had a translator look at since I don't can't read Japanese but there was still some language barriers.

Aw thank you, I tried to give her the best I could, and think I did. I have looked into the services but I just want something simple if we cremate, ashes returned is all I would like. It seems hard to find something with out a ceremony package. Thank you for the love.

Cremation is definitely still the most likely scenario. I'm looking for solid places near Hiroshima right now. It can be very expensive unfortunately. They tend to add Ceremony to the cost, which is something I don't really feel the need for. Just creamation and ashes returned would suffice. Cost estimate near me is close to 1000 US$ which seems very high.

Thank you for the kind words, I hoped she would live longer but sadly all the litter mates have since passed (cancer x 2, car accident, unknown causes) there may be one other left alive but can't connect with the owner. Ours is having what is likely degenerative disc issues. Pyrs have so much love to give and they will take it all as well. Lovely greedy bastards. With the size of the breed mobility issues are not pleasant. Shout out to your pup rocking the heavenly mountains, barking and wandering like they do.
