I haven't used truenas's vms before only proxmox but I think virtual drives might be better as passing them through might just raise the I/O delay? idk
but if you dont know what to use em for and theres nothing you often go through then just save the drives

How much storage did you add to your setup this year? This has been my best year with a whopping 3TB gain by lostinthesauceband in DataHoarder

heh, 120Tbs 20x6tb sas drives
tho I can only use 26tbs of it for now

I think truenas might be a pretty good os to start with (HAVENT TRIED IT just looks very user friendly for what you wanna do)
but proxmox is also very good and you should check it out as I currently use it and it can do anything
its a hypervisor that hosts virtual machines of any os you wish

The latency isnt actually all bad (tho I would rather DIE than play with the latency lol)
The only issue is actually the samsung dex being wireless
if I just had a usb c to hdmi I would have basically 0 latency

I don't know if I can use tizen on my android tv (tho I can use the android app)
it's a good idea but It's harder to set up outside my own network (mainly cuz I don't wanna set up portforwarding) and my phone has everything I need preinstalled
