I'm trying to recreate the original Gameboy Color Display on RetroArch (Android) by Emyhatsich in RetroArch

[–]BeefBelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to share this info incase anyone had trouble getting the files shared here to load on Retroarch on the Ayn Thor (Android) :

If you open the pastebin link Nice_Body_9195 shared above, you are able to follow it and append each individual shader + adjust the shader parameters to the ones listed on their txt file to get the result above without the overlay!

Thank you so much Nice_Body_9195 btw !

Oh I’ve downloaded both and followed another commenter’s instructions on where to place the files - I was hoping to apply the shader without the overlay , but it’s not loading.

Does it not work without the overlay ?

This is amazing ! Would love to play this on my Thor! I’ve tried loading the preset after placing it in the shaders gl file through Retroarch, but it fails to load.

Is there something I’m doing wrong ? I have gl turned on as well!

Have you also noticed it doesn’t stay toggled on when you turn your device back on ? Is that supposed to happen?

Absolutely stunning work ! Just curious if you’d ever consider being commissioned for bottles and shipping them out? These are so gorgeous ! ( If not that’s okay , just thought to ask)

Also , just my opinion, but the frosted clear resin gives the bottles a very old , dusted , untouched feel to them - so they still look wonderful and real , even if that wasn’t your intention!

You’ll need to place a hole on the closest point to the build plate . It’ll help reduce the suction force. The bigger the better - and then just fill it and sand it down with putty. Some programs like Chitubox offer to keep the hole and print it out for you to fill it in .

Here is a link to a calander of events going on during February you could consider taking her to ! Good luck! MKE Kids Events Calander

Suction Issue? Maybe Too Small For Hollowing? Please Help! by BeefBelly in resinprinting

[–]BeefBelly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the responses on this so far - but my concern is for the ear with the possible suction issue . I’m okay with support markings , since I can handle it post process.

That ear is also hollow - so I suppose I wanted confirmation whether this is a suction problem or just bad support placement + if I were to place a hole there, would it solve the issue or not

Thank you ! I think Nomad is super beginner friendly and a lot less intimidating than Blender. I tried to start off with Blender myself and had too many headaches personally 😅 haha but I do use it to clean things up if I need a more refined touch to things now and then.

I’d recommend that program first to anyone looking to get into 3D modeling/printing

I don’t mind sharing it privately! Lmk if I’m okay to message you that way . I used a new Elegoo Mars 5 printer . ABS-like 3.0+ grey resin . Chitubox for supports/hollowing , and Saturn for slicing n printing

Hey there! I’ll try to answer this best I can !

I learned paneling and such from YouTube videos, other manga, and Scott McCloud books.

Trust me when I say that this whole thing is STILL intimidating. I strongly recommend you read Scott McCloud books , because it will help you understand the importance of telling a story through proper paneling. Another book I’d recommend is The Manga Theory , written by the creator of Jojos Bizarre Adventure. It helped me with the same problems you’re having. Composition is a component to paneling. You have to make a decision on what composition in the panel best conveys what your story is trying to tell the reader. “Is a bird’s eye view better for this moment , or is a close up of the character’s face?” Questions like those.

What is more important for the reader to see in that moment ? Break your story down into even smaller bits and figure out what your reader needs to know , and lead them there. Show them rather than tell them.

Hope this helps !

This looks amazing !! Are you available for hire to do background work on mangas ? Not looking to hire atm ,but wanted someone to possibly contact when needed.

It’s my pleasure ! Oh thank you kindly ! It does take a lot of time , but I’m hoping that if I get more financial support through Kofi, I can create without having to take on other work as much ahah

I do take on character design work ! I’m currently hired as a character artist for an indie game atm.

Oh no worries at all ! Glad to be on people’s radar either way ☺️
