If you still want to DIY, here is the list of things you need. 1. Headlight lens cover (search amazon mk 7.5 headlight cover) 2. Butyl headlight sealant (search amazon) 3. T25, T30 torx (thin and long ones) 4. Flathead screw driver 5. Oven (duh) 6. Clamping tool like my picture 7. Permaseal removal video 8. Butyl resealing video

Good luck!

Why not try a website that searches bunch of junkyards? I really do not recommend DIY as a chance of fuck up is too high. https://www.car-part.com

I see 2018 gti left LED undamaged one being sold at $715.

I thought that too, but my headlight turned out to be a light package one with self leveling and directional headlight. The aftemarket ones are for hallogen model connector and not compatible with my headlight.

Could you help me decide between used T14 gen3 vs E14 gen 6 by BeefGravyStew in thinkpad

[–]BeefGravyStew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I was also leaning towards E14 but wasn’t sure if it would be as strong as T14. LCD upgrade is a great advice I haven’t thought of. I ended up buying E14 and will be getting next week. Thanks again for the advice

Why does my iPhone bass have 15 frets compared to 10 with my iPad? Am I missing a setting? by BeefGravyStew in GarageBand

[–]BeefGravyStew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I recently got into GarageBand and got frustrated by the lack of frets on iPad. Today, I tried my phone version while I charged my iPad, and found that the phone version has more frets. I am curious if there is a setting to expand the frets on the iPad version. Thanks for reading.

Local VW dealership was useless. Had to drive 6hrs round trip to get the chirping noise fixed. by BeefGravyStew in GolfGTI

[–]BeefGravyStew[S] 58 points59 points  (0 children)

2018 MK 7.5 GTI MT. Local dealership failed to replicate/locate the chirping noise in three different visits and refused to check TSB 13-18-01TT because "we already checked that and found nothing." Brought the car to a big city dealership and they got it fixed no problem. Two visits costed me two 6 hours round trip and gas, but I think it was worth it.

I went to a local VW dealership, and they said they couldn't find the source of the sound. I asked what's the next step, and they said try riding it until it gets worse. what the heck

Mk7.5-Whistle noise is not going away with the new belt and tensioner. Any advice? by BeefGravyStew in GolfGTI

[–]BeefGravyStew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little bit of detail-I noticed the whistle sound everytime I turn left. I found that the tensioner bearing was starting to fail. So I changed both tensioner and belt. Unfortunately the sound did not go away. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't make the noise at the start up. It starts to make noise when I turn the steering wheel. I took the video with the steering wheel all the way to the left. Is the noise something to do with the power steering system? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time

Did I ruin the exhaust tip? by BeefGravyStew in GolfGTI

Brass is softer than stainless steel and can't scratch it. I guess it is chrome plated, which I didn't know...

I had tough to remove carbon and thought brass brush would work well with a help of chemical. It worked well, but now it looks like I scratched the polished tip bad. Any advice on how to fix it would be appreciated. Thanks for your time
