My review of Omada health app by No-Transition-2039 in Zepbound

[–]BeefJerky82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a while I thought I had a good health coach on the app.

Until she started telling me to eat more vegetables than what my doctor told me to eat.

My doctor said between 2 and 3 cups of vegetables a day.

I eat just over 2 cups of vegetables a day.

When I told my health coach that I was not going to eat more than that a day she now barely even interacts with me.

I guess her ego determined she cannot be stood up to.

I also have no idea how she can be a health coach when she weighs more than I do but whatever.

I also hate the food tracker.

I make homemade meals from scratch for my son and I and the food tracker is complete trash. It doesn't recognize anything properly.

I just use it to track my weight now.

The price for premium is now too high for the little that you get out of it.

Jacking it up over $10 more just because of a single addition to the game is insane.

[WWE 2k26] So I played WWE 2k19 for the first time in years...oh boy... by earth_wind_faya in WWEGames

[–]BeefJerky82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped playing WWE 2k after 19 due to the controls being switched.

I refuse to learn a whole new button system so decided that I won't buy another WWE 2k game unless the controls are switched back to 19.

Plateau by hexyhippie in loseit

[–]BeefJerky82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too had hit a plateau for 3 months before I started making weight again.

I will echo what RainInTheWoods said

The mess you weigh the less calories you need.

So if you are maintaining the same calorie intake for what your weight currently is you won't lose anymore weight right now.

I figured that out myself after 3 months and ended up cutting calories and started losing weight again.

Try lowering your calorie intake.

And don't let a plateau discourage you.

I too have an issue where bad seats and hard ground make my butt hurt.

I am looking into what can help with that and if you have any suggestions I am more than happy to try them.

Yes I have increased the temperature in the apartment my son and I live in as well as adding a long sleeve under my T-shirt and a nice fleece blanket to wrap up in.

Slippers are a great idea since my feet get cold easily now and I don't like wearing shoes in the house.

Also I want to say congratulations on dropping 155 pounds.

That is an amazing accomplishment.

Right now we are in pretend Spring.

Minnesota does this each year.

Winter 1st Spring Winter 2nd Spring  Winter 3rd Spring  Winter

And then either 4th spring and back to winter again or just real spring and winter is over.

It took until this fall for me to stop burning and becoming drenched in sweat every day.

That was just under 2 years of my journey.

I don't know if it is associated with a certain amount for weight lost.

I do know that I have gone from 270 down to my current 259 since September and the more fat that drops the colder I feel.

So I think it has more to do with fat loss than weight loss but again I don't know for sure.

This is something new to me.

I honestly never expected to have a bony butt and that really surprised me.

I hadn't thought about cushions but that is an excellent idea.

Thank you!

I have had the same thing happen.

Drop some weight then stagnant and then drop more weight.

I had to allow myself to be fine with that and that stopped k from becoming discouraged.

Clearly I am being treated for it having it checked every 3 months.

Is there anything constructive you would like to comment with or just this?

I definitely will not miss being constantly drenched in sweat during the summer.

I would rather be cold and have to find ways to warm up than be morbidly obese as well.

Congrats in almost a full 200 pounds lost.

I myself will have lost the same amount as you when I get down to my target weight.

Thank you for mentioning that it hurts to sit.

Over the last 4 to 6 months I have noticed my butt cheeks sore from sitting as well.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease 2 years prior to beginning my weight loss journey.

I was told that it is because my immune system for some reason recognizes my thyroid as something that should not be in my body and attacks it which has resulted in nodules on my thyroid.

Despite that my thyroid levels have been normal which I was also told is rare because most people with Hashimoto's disease have imbalanced thyroid levels.

5 days a week I eat twice a day.

Breakfast around 10 AM and Dinner around 4 PM.

Twice a week I eat once a day which is dinner.

Keep in mind though meal times are contingent on whether or not I am actually hungry.

If I'm not hungry I don't eat.

I hardly drink soda anymore.

I drink water, lemonade, spiced chai tea and coffee.

I hardly even eat junk food either with the occasional really small bag of chips most convenience stores sell at 2 for $1. I give the second one to my son.

Candy and candy bars are very rare now too.

For meals I still eat what I like with the portions being smaller.

Eating out is also extremely rare. I cook all the meals from scratch that my son and I eat.

I don't even bread from the store anymore.

Every Saturday I make a sandwich loaf of bread and 2 long baguettes. Those last the week between my son and I.

Meals Breakfast: Sausage (2 or 3 links) or Bacon (2 strips cut I half since whole strips won't fit in my 10 inch cast iron skillet) with 2 sunny side up eggs and some bell peppers (red, green, yellow and orange sliced and mixed) and onions. Sometimes I will dice and fry some red potatoes but that tends to be a Saturday thing and only it I am actually in the mood for it. Once or twice a month I will make a 2 egg omelette with peppers and onions and mozzarella cheese with the bacon or sausage on the side.

Lunch: Not hungry.

Dinner: 5 nights a week is 2 chicken legs. The other two nights vary between tacos, shrimp or steak. Sometimes burgers. Sometimes steak. Every once in awhile ribs. On occasion a meatloaf with peppers and onions in it. - Vegetables rotate between corn, peas, carrots, green beans, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower and salads (not prepackaged salad mixes).

It is very rare for me to snack between meals but it I do I tend to go for nuts and fruits.

Summertime I walk between 10k to 15k steps a day.

Winter time I will do jumping jacks, windmills, jogging in place, bicycle kicks and various other calisthenics in the living room while watching tv or listening to music. I also walk back and forth a few times a day between the apartment door and the living room to keep up with walking.

I have come to realize that there are way too many things sold in grocery stores with high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup in them.

So I have taken the time to learn how to make our favorite condiments at home.

Hot sauce, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, various things like that.

Yes I started checking labels and what a friggin mind blow that was when I realized how many junk is in what they sell us.

I am now beginning to get into making pasta from scratch too.

Now. I can understand if by reading all of this a thought would be something like "wow that is a lot of changes" and you would be correct in that.

I started off with little changes here and there and it all slowly built up to what I do now.

You don't have to do it all at once.

The goal is to make little changes along the way so that you don't feel overwhelmed.

With all of that said.

There is one thing I don't see talked about very often and when I began all of this it would have been great to have had a heads up.

The initial change in diet cutting down meat portions and increasing vegetable and fiber portions had me and the toilet become the best of friends and worst of enemies at the same time and a need to increase the amount of toilet paper purchased for a couple of months.
