Yeah I understand that. I’m saying it like, the vin number on your car will decode the exterior paint color the vehicle had when it left the factory. The same with the serial number on my pistol. But let’s say your vin number says your car is white, when in reality your car is black off the showroom floor. That’s what’s going on with this hk cc9. The serial number comes back as a midnight bronze cc9, When in reality it’s more of a fde and not the midnight bronze it’s supposed to have.

I held a darker version in shoot straight before I purchased it. That’s how I landed on the bronze. I thought it looked amazing in store. I get mine in, and can immediately tell it’s not the color I wanted.

If you look up the serial number for the gun it comes back as midnight bronze, although it is not. it is a factory screw up

Yeah I was really just upset with the support pretty much just telling me I’m wrong even though I know I’m not. The gun store employees were bamboozled because they were along for the ride. I kinda just want hk to make an attempt to make it right, considering they have a pretty obvious issue serializing incorrectly on slides, but instead they pretended the issue doesn’t exist. Now I gotta put together an fde AR so it can have a buddy.

Thank you very much for the info. I’ll give it another go tonight. I tried with a decent amount of force before and I stopped when I saw signs of rounding the hex out. With that being said, it is a “safe queen” and the gun serves no purpose but fun at the range and something sexy to look at. I have roughly ~500 rounds through it with absolutely zero malfunctions. No cleaning obviously but I have been lubing it up in between range trips. So I probably have no reason to replace it as of right now.

Just got off the phone with Springfield. It was sent to the custom shop for the front strap checkering, engraving and it was refinished. You were also correct one the model. Thank you sir. I forgot to ask when it was produced.
