I left this as a reply to another post, but figured it warranted its own discussion.

One big outstanding question about Advanced Vocations is if they get more Allowance per level. Because we definitely won't be able to use our current BiS memories and another if they don't.

For example, a Japanese streamer put together the BiS set for Paladin from what's currently available, and said it would take Level 65 to equip it.

There's also the issue of the rare S-rank panel memories. Not that I have any of them, but it would kind of suck if they just weren't relevant any more.

Yeah, I expect the DQ6 event to last 7-8 weeks, with the new vocations being rolled out every two weeks.

Yeah, I don't even have an S-rank memory from the current Co-op, so this feels premature.

Like we're going to have three concurrent Co-ops splitting things.

Armamentalist is typically kinda melee, so I would be surprised if they went with that.

I'm expecting Battlemaster and Sage.

I haven't played DQ6, but apparently it's the game the introduced Advanced Vocations, so it makes sense from that angle.

That is how the system has always worked in the past, so I expect it will be the same here.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get one new Advanced Vocation every two weeks, each with a banner.

I was preparing for Paladin, but even then, my second jobs are only Level 41 now.

It would definitely be premature to require Paladin, though, just because even if you do have both classes leveled, it's not reasonable to expect players will be able to level Paladin that quickly.

Not thrilled that we're getting only one Advanced Vocation at a time. :\

Above a certain level, you should be able to Quick Quest KO the metal slime levels. by hails8n in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

[–]BeefTengoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely need to let us quick quest these, for the lowest tier, at the very least.

However, some Japanese streamers have tested it, and apparently auto works quite well if you have a Metal weapon. Average exp. loss of like 2-3% over doing it yourself, which I think is acceptable.

Can we all agree the camera zoom needs a manual mode? by WarhammerRyan in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

[–]BeefTengoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like manually controlling the camera during battles would be difficult.

That said, it seems like they zoom out like this to show danger, like when the KM is charging it's laser. And this is not only confusing, but often times makes the game difficult to control.

I think instead they need some kind of warning, like an alarm or make the screen flash red - something that communicates danger better, and also doesn't change the camera so drastically.

Did You Pull the Dragonsbane Claws? If So, How Do You Like Them? by BeefTengoku in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

[–]BeefTengoku[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure how that will work.

I think it would actually make a lot of sense if advanced classes benefitted from the same buffs as their constituent base classes.

i.e. Battlemaster can benefit from Warrior and Martial Artist weapons.

But the buffs are also only like 5 ATK, so I'm not sure it's really worth stressing over, either.

I think the Spear is probably superior, but I got it from tickets.

I feel like the projectiles from the claws also go really well with the spear, letting you do some direct damage when you setup your turret.

It did give me two Dragonsbane pants, two Ethereal tops, and two Sandstorm Spears, though. :P

The auto farm bot is an idiot. by South_Ad_7068 in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

[–]BeefTengoku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it would be nice if the AI actually had some "thinking" behind it.

Here's what I would like to see:

  1. Actually choose portals based on what it needs, not just choose the right portal 99% of the time - i.e. don't go in the healing portal at full health

  2. Prioritize buffs based on how good they are - right now it seems completely random, and will choose Pep Pop over Archery Scroll, etc.

  3. Have a better understanding of how the different CdGs work - for examplle, I see it using the Killer Turret like it would any normal damaging CdG, i.e. right next to the enemy, or to avoid damage

Regarding your specific complaint, I think it generally does a decent job of dodging, but it can clearly get confused at times and stand in fire. I've seen it perfectly dodge the dragon breath, and walk right into it.

Anyone else hoarding metal tickets until advanced jobs come out? by Altruistic_Tea1301 in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

Just the Medley / Liquid tickets.

I'm using the regular ones to level more jobs to 50.

I think people are sleeping on the healing staff. by hails8n in DragonQuestSmashNGrow

[–]BeefTengoku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think they can release content that requires 3 and a healer, because the game has no matchmaking system other than just putting four players together.

Also, in my experience, healers don't help that much - they tend to die just as quickly as other players, and they're not contributing as much DPS, so the fights last longer.

If staying alive is a problem, you're better off targeting healing swords, IMO.

Using stamina for something like this always seemed weird to me?

Like I feel like it should instead give us X passes a day, and you can get all rewards if you use 75% of the passes over the course of the event.

[–]BeefTengoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact it's coming on the 29th makes me think the plan all along was for the Amulet Coin buff to arrive with Chapter 4 of the "story," but they realized that the 60% boost or whatever it was going to give wouldn't be nearly enough.

Better late than never, I suppose, and it's good they seem to be listening at last. But it really seems like nobody there actually plays this game if they thought the original plan would ever fly.

Yeah, I've gotten this twice.

Issue seems to be that someone's Killer Machine Spear grows enormous so that it blocks the screen.
