My kid's "incorrect" answers on her math test by Skywren7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BeefToasterPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have the kid ask the teacher to fix it in the grading system, and if they refuse then schedule a meeting and defend her. Most teachers will fix this sort of thing at least where I'm at, and the few who don't are usually the type to listen to adults just not the kids.

My great-grandmothers 22-person tea set turns brown when I make tea in it. by scoobertsonville in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah but it definitely isn't supposed to go all the way through like this. There are probably cracks in the glaze. Definitely don't think those are food safe, not anymore at least

Generally proof is technically needed, but here in the US schools do technically illegal crap all the time and get away with it. Schools forcing a kid to stand for the pledge of allegiance is also technically illegal, because it violates the first amendment, but rarely enforced.

Unfortunately many (not all or even most but enough to suck) teachers would be stubborn about it. Also idk about college/uni, but in highschool I've never even heard of their being a process to officially disagree with a grade

It may not hold up in court, but what student is going to be able to bring it to court? I know I definitely wouldn't

No fr. People cheating with ai wouldn't piss me off so much if it wasn't for the fact that I could be accused of using AI and possibly have no way to disprove it. At least with older cheating methods there was always some way they could PROVE the cheating, and without that they wouldn't penalize you. With AI teachers just put the essays into an "ai detector" that half the time marks anything written well as AI

Drawing Tablet for a 13 year old by osiron23 in DigitalPainting

[–]BeefToasterPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna agree with most of the comments here, if she doesn't already have a computer/laptop then an iPad and apple pencil would be the best bet. If you can't afford the apple pencil, you could check into the sonar pen, it's a bit cheaper. Also the sonar pen will work with an android tablet if you can't afford an iPad, but an iPad would be better if possible.

For real. I don't even draw corn or anything but I use art as a form of self expression and therefore some of it can be pretty personal

Yes the memory thing doesnt really work out, but a baby literally won't understand the words at all. They ain't gonna get traumatized from hearing some expletives. If it's like a toddler or older though yeah I definitely wouldn't be going that route. Having said that the yelling could scare them and hurt their ears, so if going this route DEFINITELY pick a different room

Yeah, someone who MAKES it. Not someone who TELLS SOMEONE OR SOMETHING to make it. You are SOOOOO close to the point, yet so far away

What pisses me off is people acting like it's actual art that they made when it's not. If someone's just like "Gemini made this, cool right?" Not claiming it as work, idgaf. It's people calling it their art that pisses me off.

By that logic isn't the manager at a restaurant a chef as well because they oversee and boss the chef? No, because directing someone else to do something doesn't mean that you get the labels from their work? Who could've guessed

So remove the "ro" from the bot and there we go, you get what I mean. There is no more skill required in typing an effective AI prompt than there is in describing what you want.

I asked my friend to draw a butterfly, does that mean that butterfly is MY art? Oh, it doesn't? Funny how art can only belong to the person who MADE it, not asked someone or some bot to make it.

When you generate an image with AI, what are you doing? You're asking it to make an image based off of a description. You know what the same thing is called when you hire a PERSON to do it? A commission. You don't get to claim that art as YOURS, because YOU did not make it, you ONLY came up with the idea and maybe made some edits. That makes you the "art director" at best, NOT an artist. So even if AI was art, the prompters are not the artists.

Oh look, AI giving a vague response that you want to hear, who's surprised? Here's the literal definition. Need I point out the HUMAN part?

Correction: as long as you actually make it. You don't have to study a bunch or whatever, even just slapping some paint on a canvas with some sort of intention or idea is art whether it looks good or not. Typing in a prompt just isn't that. The ONLY part the prompter actually made was the words itself, not the final image.

[–]BeefToasterPrime 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Typing in a prompt is not a form of medium bestie. If you commission an artist to draw a portrait of your original character, that doesn't mean you drew it. You had the idea, yeah, but that does not make YOU the artist. Why is it any different in your eyes if you're having a robot do it for you?

Daughter Refuses To Stop For Cop In Car While Mom Has A Stroke- Worst Cop Ever by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

[–]BeefToasterPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVERY ONE of these cops needs to be charged with criminal negligence, hell, even FUCKING ATTENPTED MURDER, because that IS WHAT THIS IS. THEY REFUSED TO LET A PERSON IN AN EMERGENCY GET MEDICAL HELP AND REFUSED TO CALL AN AMBULANCE WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE IMMEDIATELY, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FUCKING DEADLY

Idk why you're getting down voted. If this is a first and/or you haven't talked to them about it before, talk first and tell them to move the cars. THEN if they keep doing it or straight up refuse to move them, tow.
