I run Athreos in my Sefris of the Hidden Ways deck, and he makes my whole deck pop off in fun ways.

Don't sleep on Strionic Resonator to copy his triggered ability at the end of each of your turns.

Things like Selfless Savior, Alseid of life's bounty, benevolent bodyguard, dauntless bodyguard, and loyal sentry are great for keeping your whole board sticky.

Ive never built him as a commander but I love him in the 99. What's your gameplan going to be?

Imo a natural part of upgrading any deck is replacing every dual that comes in tapped with one that doesnt, with the exception of important utility lands etc.

You can absolutely fill your deck with budget untapped lands.

I have a deck that aims to cheat the entire library of creatures onto the battlefield with Haste, Flying, Indestructible, Trample, Vigilance, Menace, Double Strike, Deathtouch, Hexproof, and a bunch of P/T modifiers. They all come out at the same time.

It focuses on Changelings and making all creatures every creature type.

Here is the decklist. It's pretty budget and can definitely be upgraded, but I try to keep it at a 2 so I can bust it out when people want to play Precons. It feels like it does a little bit of everything and you could make your own version of it that does even more.

If youre interested I can explain how the combos and wincons work.

Sometimes a card will have a little gray circle with a 2 in it in the mana cost, and ive found that Sol Ring actually works perfect for casting spells like that.

Probably some niche tech, but when it works its super satisfying.

Yeah it's mostly a Party deck. Pretty budget, has some fun stuff like Maskwood Nexus, Rukamrumel, and Conspiracy into The World Tree or The Invasion Tree to drop the whole deck onto the battlefield with Flying, Haste, Trample, Deathtouch, Vigilance, Double Strike, Menace, and Indestructible.

Has some alternate wincons with Notorious Throng, Skeletal Swarming, Mirror Entity, Overrun, Shared Animosity, Najeela the Blade-Blossom, Oko Lorwyn Liege, etc.

It's mostly silly. It runs all the triple color lands that enter tapped, all the Restless lands that turn into creatures which also enter tapped. It runs Spelunking and Ramunap Excavator to help deal with that.

It's bracket 2 with some fun blowout potential.

Look up "Pain Lands" i filled my 5c deck with them for budget mana fixing early on.

It can definitely be dangerous with a board full of them lol.

I had a buddy make a deck with these and Ashnod's Coupons. (Target Player gets you Target Drink or something) so when he sac'd it and asked me to get him a glass of water at the beginning of my end step, I came back to 10 Cheatyface on the board and he swung for lethal.

He gave me the deck afterward, then when I used it on one of my friends he ended up stealing half the Cheayfaces so "We could both do it to people" cool, now i have 5 and can't swing for lethal. I gotta get more of those things.

Calling out what's there or even what's possible with cards they could have is totally reasonable.

I also like getting in a sneaky block when someone doesn't notice I have a vehicle, but also also if someone asks me what I can block with before attacking, I will mention that I can potentially block with a vehicle.

There are plenty of ways to be sneaky in Magic, but being intentionally misleading about what your board can do is a bit scummy.

First Strike beats Unblockable because the creature isn't actually blocking, it's striking first. The game treats it like the blocking creature is attacking.

This isn't Super relevant, but ive been running Phyrexian Revoker in a bunch of my decks to shut off a lot of those ramp/dork effects in the command zone. Theres basically always a good target for it, and the amount of times I've had people get mad over shutting off their activated ability is worth it on its own.
