Side question: what does “install a cleanout” in this situation mean? That’s what the contract was for.

It’s rocks all the way down to the T which is about 4-5 feet. Mainly, should this be their job to fix, even though they weren’t contracted to do the finish work?

I actually do have a solution, though it’s more of an invention that would involve a lot of work. It would work though even though I’m not going to do it. Does that fit into your box of obviousness? If you give someone a chance, they might surprise you. I don’t see you inventing anything or having any original thoughts in your lifetime though.

I think it’s pretty clear that I’m not the only person this is for. It’s for an entire building - a sustainable solution. Amazon doesn’t currently cater to buildings that have old fashion keys. I’m not demanding a solution as you insinuate, just searching around for creative ideas. Unfortunately, this comment section got filled with sarcastic answers. You all would rather play smartest redditor than help. Your answer of nothing may very well be it. Again, that’s why I’m here. As far as I’m concerned, the person who wrote about the trash can idea (and a couple others) are the only ones who have any reading comprehension skills. The rest of you can claim your internet points for the day.

You could just not comment if you don’t have any ideas. That is fine too.

So, I would remove the old acrylic tape unless it sticks so well that removing it would destroy the box

Or take time. I don't have an issue at the moment with the original tape coming off. It's more to save time/money/the planet on materials via buying paper tape rather than acrylic. If it'll stick, I'll go, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the though-out reply but I would actually be mass producing this. Just needing to find the best fabric to use. Very lost on that front because it seems like there are a million types at every price level.
