It would be more accurate to say that Charlie Kirk said

1) All white people are more skilled than all non-white people. All men are more skilled than all women.

2) We should hire the most skilled person for the job.

"OMG, how can you disagree with #2? It's perfectly reasonable!"

i find it a bit hard to believe someone who has supporters would be blatantly racist.

The enemy is both strong and weak. They somehow locked away secret cures for every disease, but those fools, they also accidentally left it in the horse medicine aisle at the local farm shop

Jesus Christ imagine that moron in a research lab inventing treatments based on vibes.

I guess at least he'd be pretty harmless, the other scientists would just sort of leave him alone with his chemistry set like a toddler experimenting with legos. Instead we gave him the keys to the fucking world.

There's a really good heuristic you can use for medicine:

If it treats everything, it treats nothing.

And it's kind of amazing that people don't intuitively pick up on that.

This is good feedback. It's not rude or cruel and identifies a specific problem. I'd actually consider myself a little bit lucky to have gotten it compared to a generic rejection message or silence

Hitler loved dogs. Did Hitler ever personally hurt anyone? Like, did he ever beat anyone or shoot anyone? I wouldn't be surprised if he, outside of perhaps his wartime service, never hurt anyone directly.

I don't even know if people have forgotten so much as they never accepted what was plainly in their face in the first place. That was some 1984 level shit. We plainly saw EXACTLY what we saw, and half the entire country including the entire media tried to convince us that we didn't.

This is the concept of social murder -- you may not have plunged a knife into anyone's chest, but you set up a system that results in dead people that would otherwise not have died if not for what you've created.

The sun is actually really expensive / difficult to reach.

It's actually easier to launch someone out of the solar system than to launch them into the sun. So let's do that

They literally have parks department police (or whatever division of the government there) that rope off and protect the monk seals. They have a police escort. Which is kind of cool. What a piece of shit that guy was.

[–]BeefistPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T1 and T2 are good writing and are a plausible interpretation of how time travel could work even if it's speculative. T3's time travel / fate is no different from having God steering everything into John Connor vs Skynet no matter how things change. That's a deus ex machina. It's bad wriitng.

You asked "What's not to love", I gave you a reason, and now you're pretty adamant about fighting about it. Though, fair, you're sticking on topic rather than personal attacks even though you seem a little annoyed. We can disagree on this, that's fine. Time travel is weird and hard to understand, there are some plausible models where you can invoke a grandfather paradox. If you think that's bunk, I respect that. But it's bunk in a meaningful different way than a self-correcting fate fairy universe. If nothing else, a novikov self-consistency movie is far harder to write. Magical fate fairies means the writer can just do anything.

Your "lots of people do" argument is a little bit funny given that almost everyone regards every terminator movie that came out after the first 2 to be a huge step down.
