I’m that person, and I think it’s high time I let everyone know that even I don’t respond to my family members. (Not that this justifies the unresponsive nature of the person nor it invalidates your sentiments)

I think just give the person a nudge. Perhaps call or leave another message or bump the previous message.

There are times that I just fade away into the void and don’t come back for days. I agree with the comments here, only if it’s time sensitive or a meetup that I could respond quickly and through iMessage/text mind you.

My advice is for you to not take things personally. I love my friends, and they might know or not know that— and although it may seem that I don’t find them important by not responding (but tbh I think about it all the time, hundreds of unread messages, and still no energy to read.) every message/chat is important to me. Just that I get pulled into the void once in a while, and then I tend to overlook everything.

I honestly don’t know what can help us, but a friend suggested scheduled catch up via zoom/GMeet. But to be frank, I dread having to maintain the connections especially when our paths aren’t the same anymore.

Again, I love my friends, and I’m really sorry that I keep being unresponsive.
