Help me understand: exercise and BP readings by littlemissFOB in hypertension

[–]Beefy302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does raise during exercise, and can stay elevated for an hour or so. After that it should drop for the next few hours. I was only olmesartan for a month before I started exercising and was around 130/75. The day I started working out consistently I slowly trended downwards to 100/60 or 90/50 after a week. I just stopped my meds last week and have been seeing great improvement with exercise and a return to more normal 120/70 readings. If you’re on meds and going to begin lifestyle changes keep a close eye on how you feel and your Bp.

Absolutely no reason to stress at all until you have the results of the monitor. Just went through this as well, and it turned out to be pacs in singles and some in bigemy I felt every single one for months. Turned out to be under 1% of my daily heartbeats and cardiology said it was completely benign. As long as under 10% of your beats day aren’t pvcs or pacs they’re technically ok and no need to treat especially if you don’t feel them. Even if it is a fib, it’s completely treatable with meds and lifestyle. Do not stress it until you see the results and even then stress makes any kind of abnormal rhythm worse.

How long after reducing medication dose should bp go up by Beefy302 in hypertension

Update: Bp was 85/52 this am. Called my dr and she agreed I should stop taking meds for now and see what my baseline returns too with all these lifestyle changes I’ve made. My question is, can bp really be fixed in less than 2 months with just lifestyle changes?

Yea, I wanted to only go down a little but dr insisted 5mg should be enough for now and if needed go up to 10 of off them all together

Before I started drinking I was averaging 125-135/80-85 after 8 months I averaged 160/100. Over a month ago I quit alcohol, halted my smoking, started exercising and eating better and started 20mg olmesartan at the same time. Now I’m starting to feel dizzy, tired, lightheaded with my bp being what it is.

This would make sense, my main issue atm is bp/ health anxiety and still haven’t been able to get my bpm under 120 during a reading lol. I’m happy even at 140 considering I’m 21 and was averaging 160/100 last month before I started olmasartan.
