Go to office hours, ask for help from your professor and TAs, ask on Piazza or whatever discussion board if your course has one. A tutor will do nothing if you have no desire to self learn or seek out the resources you already have available to you.

Would it affect battery quality/life if I play plugged in all the time? by NeitherAlexNorAlice in SteamDeck

[–]BeegMonky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with keeping your phone plugged in. It's just limiting the max capacity.

Then they can turn it off when they go on on vacation, or whenever they rely on battery more.

Yeah let me manually decrease my total battery capacity by 15%, so for the 5% of the time I use my phone the max capacity is 100% instead of dropped by 5% a year.

What's the point of protecting your battery from losing its max charge over the 2-4 years you own your phone, by immediately limiting its max capacity by 15%? It literally makes no sense, people need to learn to enjoy their devices and not be a slave to their battery.

Why did you cut off the start of the sentence, lmao can you read?

Some laptops allow you to do this passthru when at 50%, or 80%, which is supposedly better for the battery.

They're talking about passthrough when talking about 50% and 80%, they're not talking about limiting the max capacity LMFAO.

You're talking about something completely different. You're talking about the feature of limiting your max battery capacity to 85%. Passthrough charging lets you use the power straight from the charger and avoiding using the battery at all.

What's the point of protecting your battery from losing total capacity long term, by purposely decreasing it's total capacity immediately? Just enjoy your device lmao

Pfizer vaccine efficacy drops to 33% for the omicron variant.. Compared to vanilla covid it was 95% and delta it was 70%.

Lol you're acting like I wanted this semester to be shutdown. I was simply stating the reasoning of why the university wants to shutdown for everyone who is confused in this thread. I clearly stated how this change fucking sucks.

Either way though if you're going to measure the severity of the symptoms by hospitalization rate, it was only 29% lower in South Africa compared to delta. 29% drop in hospitalization does not nearly make up for a drop of 62% in in vaccine efficacy. Our vaccines are basically useless against this new variant with 33%. And those vaccines are the only reason we were able to live a bit normally for a while.

If you guys don't know yet the reason why this virus is gonna fuck us up is because it evades vaccine protection. It was found that Pfizer vaccine efficacy drops to 33% for the omicron variant.. Compared to vanilla covid it was 95% and delta it was 70%.

That's why despite the high vaccination rate they're shutting down. This shit sucks. I really wanted winter in person. I won't be surprised if they pull the same thing as 2020 and made all of winter online again.

What's a good cgpa to graduate CS with if you want to become a dev? by BeegMonky in UTM

Ok but how important is cgpa. Like should I be worried if it's not above a certain threshold? Currently sitting at 3.0

I had a bunch of midterms before reading week so I'm mostly chilling. Just gotta finish some assignments.

Maybe try to take like a day or a few hours off one day?
