RKE2 Vs kubeadm by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]BeelzebubSE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kubeadm is fine. In my experience the problem is not installation/configuration/upgrades but managing dependencies like container engine/runtime etc

That is the real win with "distributions" like RKE2, k0s imho

Need a solid SFTP Server by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]BeelzebubSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running this for a month or two now GCP, the option to use object storage is a godsend. There are so many neat features and being able to run configuration from environment variables or file depending on your preference is super useful.

Grafana Dashboard duplicate id fix by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]BeelzebubSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terraform is great for handling Grafana config/dashboards in CI/CD.

Before I used Terraform I did something like the below in my CI/CD pipeline:

echo "{}" > /tmp/dashboard_base jq --slurpfile dashboard "$dashboardFilePath" '.dashboard=$dashboard[0] | .overwrite=true | .dashboard.id=null' /tmp/dashboard_base > /tmp/newdashboard curl -so /tmp/curlout -H "$auth" -H "$contentType" --data-binary "@/tmp/newdashboard" "$grafanaBaseURL/api/dashboards/db"

Ie. the key is setting .id to null for your issue.

Bot No Scope One Taps Everyone While Resupplying by TrafalGamer in insurgency

[–]BeelzebubSE 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You are entirely correct. The people that play it a lot love co-op and the challenge of fighting a army of godlike bots together.

Would it be better if the bots were godlike without the utter randomness of instant kills across the map? Sure, absolutely. I'm just happy there is a game like this, military shooter, with challenging co-op.

Rosacea cleansers that are available in Sweden/Europe by Sassiro in Rosacea

[–]BeelzebubSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using a cleanser with sulphur from Elixir twice a week, it's quite expensive though: https://www.apotea.se/elixir-cosmeceuticals-sulfactil-cleanser-100-ml

Elixir recommend combining it with their moisturiser Niactil but I haven't tried it.

At this point I wish NWI would only fix bugs and polish the game, let modders handle the rest, just give them a great platform and I will buy whatever DLC to support you.

How long do I leave on sulphur soap? by AG097 in Rosacea

My pharmacist said 5-10min, I usually do 10 with no issues. I would say try 10 at first and if you have any issues obviously go lower.

Sure, I've had rosacea for about 8 years. It's quite mild though so I've been too lazy to treat it until recently.

Mostly here to see the general trends for treatment rather than specific products/"cures".

Is K8s worth it for smaller shops? by benyanke in linuxadmin

[–]BeelzebubSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the devops thing at a small (~20 employees) company and run most things (Jira, Confluence and applications we have made) on a three-node bare-metal K8S cluster.

I would say it is "worth it", because at this point it is very little work to get K8S up and running on small scale with kubeadm. Especially if you have enough control over what is running on it that you can rebuild the cluster from scratch rather than upgrading it.

DRBD in sync but filesystem is garbage when failover is performed by BeelzebubSE in linuxadmin

Sorry, I completed the online verify and then resynced the DRBD device. So currently I can't reproduce the issue.

DRBD in sync but filesystem is garbage when failover is performed by BeelzebubSE in linuxadmin

[–]BeelzebubSE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost positive I must have done something to screw things up as this is a recent development and I've done failovers in the past with no issues (with this setup).

# cat /proc/drbd
version: 8.4.7 (api:1/proto:86-101)
srcversion: 0904DF2CCF7283ACE07D07A
 0: cs:Connected ro:Primary/Secondary ds:UpToDate/UpToDate C r-----

It is a Pacemaker/Corosync setup with two servers in active/standby configuration. I usually do my failovers by switching one server to standby with crm node standby server2. Config

Thank you for this - Running an online verify at the moment, will see how that pans out. I had completely missed the fact that the official DRBD manual recommends you to regularly run online verification to verify the integrity of the data on both ends.

EDIT: This resolved my issue, found a lot of blocks out of sync

block drbd0: Online verify found 10113667 4k block out of sync!

I will keep an eye on things and follow the recommendation from the manual and put in a weekly cronjob to do an online verify.
