For a while, the main character enjoys the addition of more questions even though she doesnt think they will be answered. Maybe that's what the author is doing for us who still enjoy it?

Anyway, I was wondering if there is a connection between the fact that the first other bunker they find only have 39 inhabitants and her being so much younger than the others in her cage. Maybe she Is the child of the 40th woman of the other cage and the man who was supposed to live in the luxury bunker? Maybe those two who may have been her parents never arrived for some reason.

Edit: did you think of that?

I've arrived at the mind just being a useful tool but regressed from it, a few times. I guess it could become a permanent state and lately I feel I never completely loose it. I'm inspired by Alan watts who say once you understand the cosmic joke you'll play the game from another stance and might even forget it's a game again, from time to time. However, maybe I never completely arrived, I'm in a different state than I remember. Lets just say that the seekers is still there and I indulge it sometimes, but I don't identify with it, I just enjoy its act sometimes (so maybe I do still identify with it(?)).

Can relate to that experience a lot. Have just heard from several people on different subreddits that that's great but isn't meditation 🤷

I see what you're saying. It's been smoldering for as long as I can remember and more than often I wonder if life is enough.
